Looks a lot like the Mazda CX5/CX3. Infact too much like it. Does Honda have any partnership going with Mazda?

Unsurprisingly it looks like the the current gen CRV, albeit proportionately smaller. I've never liked the latest sharp-edged designs by Honda. Personally prefer the old gen Honda design philosophy to the new one. Either way, this one's going to give stiff competition to the current ruling champions of the quasi-SUV segment.

When launched in India, Honda should and most probably will price this bang on in the Duster/Terrano territory.

IMHO this can truly set the sales charts on fire for Honda India after Amaze. The New City in 2013-14 and Urban in 2014-15 can increase Honda's market share in India from the current 4.9% to atleast 8-9% by end 2015. Maruti's SX4 crossover can help Suzuki cut the loss of marketshare. I expect Honda Urban to manage good volumes even if it is priced at premium to competition.

The Honda Urban/CR-U is based on the same platform as the Honda Fit that is already in production at Guangzhou-Honda. The Honda Urban/CR-U will also be built in Mexico for North American markets. The Chinese variant will be powered by 1.5 and 1.5 turbo petrol engines. The CR-U will compete with fine cars such as the Nissan Juke and Peugeot 2008; small-size SUV’s with a premium look and feel.

It's a weird name in my opinion. Is it Vezel like weasel? Or Vezel like bezel, which doesn't mean anything in English.

I also don't like the looks from the front. Too busy with too much happening. This exciting H design doesn't work for me with that thick plastic band across the grill, which makes an appearance in the Jazz also. The urban SUV concept looked much cleaner and elegant.

In my opinion, it is wise decision. Else it will become another Skoda Yeti in terms of sales numbers. The product looks a premium one and Honda will not be interested to tone it down to make it cost efficient.
