Mercedes S600 slams Rolls Phantom in a comparo!

The S600 is a good car, but the Phantom is in a league of its own. If u have the MONEY, the most definete choice would obviously be the Rolls Royce.

I think, RR should add something more to their cars rather than just sell on brand value.

Come on, why do we always say "A Benz is a benz" when comparing it with a Japnese car. We all know and agree that latest generation Lexus(s) are much better than MB in most respects. Still we try to save the MB just coz of image factor (big three pointed star), even though there are expensive to maintain and mostly troublesome to own compared to a Lexus.

Now when MB comes up with something more better than a Phantom, we say RR is a uncomparable. Assuming a car(not S600 in particular) which is better than RR in all respects (power, comfort, reliability, good looking, etc), we still would say RR is in a league of its own. FOR WHAT ? Who decides its league, isnt it we? Why be afraid to include something else also in the same league?

Come on : Dosent a car above $100000 need some value for money at least 5 % VFM.

Does the cheaper better car not deserve any respect coz it does not have the image or a comparatively big name ?

Wouldnt U like the see the face of the driver in a Murci, when U race exactly parallel to him in mini -limo sized car in a straight line? I would love to see it.
This is not a deciding factor but a definate plus point.
Didnt we all respect the Zen which was closer to the Supra in a drag or the Honda Civic which was close to the Ferrari in the drag.

I agree and back each and every word of Dipen!
It's a fact. No matter if many will disagree. But it is!

Rolls has lost it's charm and it's just a car made by BMW now. To keep the flying spur flying, It should reinvent itself. And better soon than later.
