This teaser is headed for Shanghai auto show. Is it the sedan version of 2013 sx4, or an all new sedan? Any chance for this to come to India?

The Car looks really good. In fact too good to be a C segment sedan, would most probably me in the shrinking D-Segment. And considering the fact that even the big brangs are fighting for the leftovers, Suzuki might be wiser to let go of this car for India.

But it would be an altogether different story if they plan to replace the SX4 with this!

To me this is 'The' best looking sedan from Suzuki yet, no I wasnt pleased with the way the Kizashi was designed.

This sure looks more like a concept as of now, its for sure not the SX4 sedan because Maruti has just launched the facelifted SX4 sedan. SX4 is really very aged now and Suzuki should launch some radical new sedan, which can be a game changer for them and build their image as a decent luxury car maker too, say something like Hyundai did with the new Verna.

There is talk of Maruti Suzuki working on a sedan to fit in between the DezireCS and the SX4. This could be it maybe. It will be competing with the new Sail sedan, Honda Brio sedan and Toyota Etios.

Dont let the concept fool you into thinking this is an upmarket product. Suzuki has a habit of coming out with great concepts and then diluting it when the production version comes out. Classic example of this is the Kizashi and A-Star concepts. The concepts looked fantastic but the products that came were bland in comparison.

I have a feeling this will be placed one notch above the Kizashi as it certainly looks larger (espescially from the rear 3/4 angle)

It is basically the sedan version of new 2013 sx4. See the bonnet lines. But suzuki has tried well to hide the sx4 genes.

It looks better proportioned than the SX4 - which is fairly awkward. Maruti (and Suzuki) can offer better value in the segment by making the SX4 slightly larger and price it the same way as before. So a near Cruze/Civic size at a near City price. Definitely an exciting prospect to watch.

The car looks great as of now in pictures! The rear is well-proportioned, side-profile looks good, alloys from the pic look smashing, headlights are aggressive and exhausts look meaty enough to pass off as a D-Segment sedan. Just price it correctly, Maruti and you'll see it flying off the shelves, something that SX4 never managed to do. Is it just me or the tail lamps look like a mix of F10 3-Series and Z4?

P.S. Looks like they are replicating another Swift here!

Nice to see Suzuki finally break away from the failure of the kizashi and not give up on engineering and designing brilliant products for the future. First the s-cross now this! I think they have learnt their lesson to tackle the D+ segment they need a more fuel efficient motor if not a diesel and since they do not have one in that size for now, they ought to stick to where they are. I am sure this thing will look brilliant even when it is production ready I mean who would have predicted with the kizashi that they'd keep the whole exhaust integrated into the bumper design and be able to put faddish 17inch wheels in India and still manage decent ride? All that's left is for them is to be able to market it well oh and also, for maruti Suzuki here in india to have a little more ambition and faith in our country and give us these products. I mean when this along with the s-cross gets launched across the world, I do NOT want to see some "limited edition" of the stupid facelifted sx4 that we now have with a cheap aftermarket head unit, some ghastly stickering and some floor mats :/

This is most probably the replacement of the SX-4 sedan, which explains the unveiling in China. But we can be 99% sure that this design will be toned down for mass production. At least those wheels, mirrors and exhausts look pure design material.

You can't have a car like that and expect a "S"uzuki badge on it. When this comes to production people will be asked to spot the similarities ( not differences) between the picture above and the real car.

What matters is not the design but the heart. Suzuki desperately need a 1.6 or 2 L diesel. Higher segment cars. (SX4 and above) find very few petrol obsessed owners. If kizashi had come with a 2L diesel, I am sure it would have taken the Cruze by the horns.
