Audi Q8 concept's next teaser shows touch Audi logo acting as door handle!

A touch-sensitive Audi logo mounted on the B-pillar serving as a replacement for the conventional door handles. All the driver has to do is simply put his thumb on the four-ring logo and then the doors will open. Maybe this feature is a sign of things to come as far as a more high-tech keyless entry system is concerned.
Also noticeable is the “E-tron” logo on the front bumper, suggesting the Q8 is going to have an electrified powertrain.

Stunning AUDI Q8- revealed. Launch in 2018.

The Detroit concept sports a striking exterior design that combines the large footprint of an SUV with the sleek lines of a coupé. It is powered by an e-tron-badged plug-in hybrid powertrain made up of a 3.0 TFSI petrol engine, which produces 329bhp and 369lb ft, and an electric motor.

At 5020mm long and 2040mm wide, the Q8 concept’s footprint is larger than that of a Range Rover but it stands 210mm shorter at 1700mm. The car’s wheelbase is 3000mm, which is 78mm longer than that of a Range Rover, and it rides on 23in twotone alloy wheels sitting within bulging wheel arches.


A 17.9kWh lithium ion battery is located at the rear. It gives a claimed all-electric range of 37 miles and takes two and a half hours to fully charge via a 7.2kW charger. With a full tank of fuel, the Q8 has a claimed maximum range of up to 621 miles.
The concept uses an eight-speed tiptronic automatic transmission with permanent quattro four-wheel drive. It features a torque control system to improve agility by braking an inside wheel when cornering at speed.

The car sits on five-link adaptive air suspension front and rear. Adjustable damping control allows the driver to switch from Comfort through to a firmer Sport mode, with the different settings raising or lowering the car by as much as 90mm.

Audi's Rival to BMW's X6 and Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe is the Audi Q8.

the Q8 sits lower and looks considerably wider than the Q7, while also boasting a sloping rear roofline for that Coupe-like appearance that has become extremely popular with SUVs nowadays.

Audi reveals new Q8 Sport Concept at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, with production SQ8 version likely to arrive in 2018,

Called the Q8 Sport Concept, it differs from its Detroit revealed sibling with a more potent hybrid powertrain and a racier, more aerodynamic bodykit, hinting at an ‘S’ badged version of the upcoming SUV

It makes use of a 3.0-litre TFSI six-cylinder motor developing 470bhp, with 700Nm of torque to boot. The TFSI engine produces 444bhp on its own, and is paired with a more powerful 20kW electric motor plus an electronic compressor to reduce turbo lag. Audi claims this car is capable of 0-62mph in 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 171mph.

Looks almost exactly like the Q7, with the new center console with what looks like a touch screen display. Surprised to see a physical instrument cluster, but they will have the LED option surely. Interestingly, the RPM cluster reads 'SQ7', maybe because this is a mule and they are carrying over parts?

Production Audi Q8 Spotted.

The Q8 will ride on an extended version of the Q7’s MLB platform and will be built alongside the slightly smaller SUV at Audi’s Bratislava plant in Slovakia.

Rivaling X6 and GLE is ok, but head up against the Range Rover, especially the LWB is a different ball game altogether. Our ex-MP had one [along with old & new LC's] and it simply appeared a class above them. Any one thinking to take the RR head on should first think of size and then work on other things.

Audi is currently gearing up to introduce a new flagship for the “Q” family - Audi Q8!

Now spy pics of the 2019 Audi Q8 Interior reveals similarity to the Audi A8.

Perhaps the biggest difference between the two is the continuous vent design of the Q8 in line with the look of the Q7 whereas the sedan gets two central air vents with electrically operated shutters that open and close.
