Interiors of the ix25 fully revealed by Auto Sohu.

Note the vertical AC vents (like the current i20), a central console + HU eerily similar to the Santa Fe, and the AC section which might be housing a Climate Control unit. Steering-mounted controls + a Start/Stop button can also be seen. The passenger section shows plenty of leg space, which indicates a spacious interior as well.

The transmission looks to be the same 4-speed AT, typical of most Hyundai offerings.

Hyundai has released first official teaser photo of the upcoming ix25 compact SUV.

As is evident from the official teaser photo, the model will feature a wrap-around headlight clusters, chromed hexagonal signature grille and aggressive lower air intakes housing the fog lights.

ix25 will be unveiled this week on Sunday at the Beijing Auto Show.

They've got the stance right on this one. This might shape up to be the best looking Hyundai SUV after the original Tucson.

I think the design looks great. The interior looks miles ahead of Ecosport. And considering it's a Hyundai, the fit-and-finish and the interior materials will be top notch. The days of Ecosport having a year long waiting list is probably going to be over.

The story is probably going to be a repeat of the Fiesta vs Verna battle of 2011.

White looks really nice. In fact ix25 looks good from the front and side but rear looks a bit dull. Possibly spare tyre like EcoSport would make it look better.

I find the rear pretty good looking. Love the uncluttered, neat look of the rear. The sides look boring though. Feels like the design finishes too soon.

Mind you that Hyundai has launched this as ix25 Concept so the final version may change slightly. Also note that the quality of interiors at least in the snap does not look very appealing but same was the case even when EcoSport was first displayed so production version can be expected to have top quality interiors just like Grand i10.

The ix25 looks smashing. Looking at dimensions of 4270mm it's definitely not going to compete with Ecosport cause it's already at a disadvantage being in higher tax bracket.

Secondly Hyundai only has the 1.4L or the 1.6L CRDI engine. the 1.4 will be too small for this size of vehicle which means 1.6L Verna engine again in a higher tax bracket since greater than 1.5L. Knowing Hyundai premium quality and features this one maybe even more than Duster.

Hyundai should get it to India as the Elantra is just doing ok and Verna is under strong fire from City. This can slot in between and offer a premium proposition.

With a 1.6L diesel, 120+ bhp of power, ample torque and a loaded feature list, this has the potential to become the epitome of 15-20L (OTR) SUV. They can position it bang in that price bracket and surely can see the sales soaring. That is one segment I have been harping day in and day out, which is absolutely untapped. Terrano could have gone more premium, better build and more features, into that segment, but today it does not look like one. I thought the Nissan Qashqai had the potential, but I doubt if Nissan would get it to India. Yeti is too small, for 20+ pricing. Lets really hope the IX25 makes it to India, as is.

20 L would be a stretch. Anything around and slightly above Terrano is double thumbs up.
