Skoda KAMIQ Vs. Volkswagen T CROSS - A dilemma to face when choosing in 2021 ?
Although the Škoda Kamiq and the Volkswagen T-Cross fall into the same segment and are based on the same MQB A0 platform, they are so different that you might not even guess the same platform from which it is derived.
- Internationally Skoda Kamiq cheaper than the T Cross, however T-Cross partially compensates for the price difference by the equipment.
Quote:
At basic , it has a blind spot watch, a leather steering wheel, power rear windows, alloy wheels or a spare wheel that must be paid for at Kamiqu. However, blind spot monitoring or rear window electric retraction for the Ambition base stage is not even available. On the other hand, the Škoda has standard LED headlights (T-Cross halogen only) and a driver's knee airbag.

Interior Design: CUV Vs. SUV
-
Kamiq looks more like a
cross between a hatchback, station wagon and SUV, with a longer, wider and lower body, while the
T-Cross is a typical small SUV with its shorter, narrower and taller body.
Space& Quality:
- interior of the T-Cross looks slightly cheaper in relation to the total price of the car
-Even with the highest equipment you can not get rid of hard plastic lining and the missing handrails on the front and rear ceiling clearly show where they were trying to save
-T-Cross is just large for an average adult. A 176-cm-high person sits behind himself, even when the sliding rear bench is fully forward. This way, you are already very close to your knees, but it is sufficient for a short move.
- T-Cross can tilt the passenger seat as standard (Kamiq at extra cost)
-
When you get to Kamiq, you immediately feel that you have moved a little higher. Yes, even here you will occasionally come across a piece of hard plastic (eg door handles), but the places that are most “handy” consist of softened and very pleasant materials.
- The overall workmanship Skoda has managed better, whether we are talking about the composition of individual elements or details in the form of lining.
Engine, driving characteristics:
T-Cross and Kamiq with a stronger version of the 3-liter 3-cylinder in combination with a six-speed manual transmission. It has an output of 85 kW at 5,000 rpm and 200 Newton meters of torque from two to three and a half thousand rpm. The curb weight plays slightly in favor of the T-Cross (1175 vs. 1231 kg), but the Kamiq is still a brisk tool.
Quote:
The fact that the turbocharged three-cylinder manages to move Kamiqa faster, not only shows paper values, but also our measuring technology. With the fourth gear engaged, the Kamiq's flexible acceleration from 60 to 100 km / h takes 7.8 seconds, while the T-Cross needs 9.4 seconds. We shift up one gear and accelerate from 80 to 120 km / h. Kamiq reaches this value in 11.5 seconds, T-Cross is 1.6 seconds slower. The same speeds, only when ranked six, brings the times of 15.7 vs. 18.1 seconds, again in favor of the smallest Skoda SUV. In the 30th motorway, the tachometer in both cars shows a value of about 2800 revolutions, a little below is the needle in Kamiq.

Driving: Quote:
This Kamiq is much more confident in the corners, overall, despite most of the unevenness, with a greater refinement and the ride is much more floating, which certainly helps the smaller seventeen with a higher profile. All without optional adaptive dampers with solenoid valve. Skoda has a lot of care to isolate unwanted phenomena, so you can hear nothing from the chassis except the engine itself. If you can complain about something, then perhaps just the aerodynamic whistle at the highway.
