It may have sounded sarcastic, but no i was serious.

As i said it indeed looks very intimidating in that pic, & especially if that kinda creature is spotted in your rear view mirror it is bound to create an impact.

The front though if you look at it for the 1st few times you may not like it, butsomehow this look is growing on me & wouldn't mind if certain design elements trickle down to the Fortuner

Some pictures of the 2014 Prado in the Gulf showroom. No DRL's here I guess?

Re: 2014 Toyota Landcruiser Prado Facelift

Could it be the base model?

Look at the music system; looks traditional compared to the touchscreen one from the first post. No climate-control AC either. No DRLs and no headlamp washers because of the regular lamps. Most probably the base variant.

Re: 2014 Toyota Landcruiser Prado Facelift

No Touch screen even in the Gulf.. That unit looks almost the same 6cd changer that came with my 2004 Corolla. This one maybe has mp3!!

Even the Innova now comes with touchscreen. Wondering whether these touchscreens can be be really so expensive with so many Tablets now being available cheaply!

What is the price of the new LC prado in the Gulf? I'm sure its not 84 lacs?

This is purely a rip-off by Toyota , they retail Lexus with 8 Cylinder at 50 Grand in US , Dealer Invoice will be less than 45 so even if we add 150 % duties this can never be 80 lac

If you like it, thats all it matters if you are going to buy it. I like the fortuner the way it is now and the 1st gen.

Re: 2014 Toyota Landcruiser Prado Facelift

i hate the direction in which current versions of iconic brand names are going.

Its used to be a plain simple no non-sense and actually or literally a land crusier.

The latest idiocy is the new Mustang.!! and why is everybody going the Korean way. when Koreans are adopting much better designs, best example being the evolution of Hyundai cars.

Re: 2014 Toyota Landcruiser Prado Facelift

I love the look.

But i just dont understand how something which was 69L on road in 2012 is now 1 CR+ on road. The rupee alibi of jacking price is followed more agressively by Toyota than any other brand in india.

Toyota cars are turning out to be good investment. I wonder if the resale is good just coz of reliablity or coz of prices getting jacked up.

The front grille of the new Prado looks good but it's the headlights that seem 'differently' shaped. The one I observed has a black-and-chrome instead of the all-chrome that is in the earlier pictures of this thread; it looks better in-person but not in the pictures.

The DRLs don't wrap around the headlights so they look pretty decent. For most vehicles, the DRLs give them a cheap look. AFAIK, none of the Prados have a front-facing camera. They have a reverse camera, with an optional set of front-and-rear sensors.
