Honda Civic Type R: All set for re-entry in 2015

Its good news for the Type R fans!

Honda Civic Type R: All set for re-entry in 2015-m.jpg

Manabu Nishimae, president of Honda Europe, had some revving info on the Type R’s performance potential at the 2013 Frankfurt auto show.
Yes, the hot five-door is shaping up to be rather epic! And now the news/rumor is officially confirmed.

Honda says the 2015 Type R will be powered by a brand new, direct-injection 2.0 litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which will produce “at least” 276 horsepower.
Honda revealed one of its goals with the Type R is to snatch the quickest time (for a front-drive car) around the fabled German track, Nurburgring circuit.
That’s probably not an empty threat, as Nishimae confirmed the Civic already is close to the record—and there’s still two years of development to come.

Though these information was officialy revealed at Frankfurt, not even the concept was showcased.

The audio visual treat, what a teaser Honda!

Unfortunately, this will probably never make its way to India. So the Type R will remain of academic interest to all of us in the country.

Anyway, a 276 hp machine will probably be priced very high if at all it comes to Indian shores.

Re: Honda Civic Type R: All set for re-entry in 2015

Honda is putting the final touches to its new Honda Civic Type R hatchback, ahead of the car’s expected launch in 2015.
The new Civic Type R will be the first Type R to feature a turbocharged engine, and it will also be the most powerful Civic Type R yet, with an expected output of over 280 hp.

The new Type R will be powered by a new VTEC TURBO 2.0 litre turbocharged direct-injection engine.

Oh, I am so happy for Honda. They very badly needed the new Type R in their lineup.(As in a drivers car).Look forward to see their newer engines take on the europeans.

Re: Honda Civic Type R: All set for re-entry in 2015

Thanks to Autoexpress for this first 'in flesh' image of the 'racing car for the road', the first Honda to feature one of its brand new VTEC TURBO engines from the Earth Dreams Technology range. The two-liter, direct injection, four-cylinder turbo is expected to deliver class-leading output of at least 280PS and will be EURO 6 compliant.

A very innovative concept . It was a little too long though. Thanks for sharing!

Re: HONDA CIVIC Type R Teaser!

Very innovative and must say I was pretty engrossed.

Yet, doesn't make sense as the Civic is long gone and dusted.

Though I still love the low slung stance and the futuristic dash for sure. One of my favorite "drool" cars!!

I suspect when it come to India power will be down, and it may become a saloon.

Type R was never confirmed for India, or was it?

Honda is taking it's own sweet time to bring in the Civic to India, forget the Type R. All we would get is an RS version with added bling features.

Need to start saving if it is coming indeed. Civic was one of my all time favourites and the R is just too good to resist.
