2015 Audi R8

Here is the first rendering images of the 2015 Audi R8.

Drawing inspiration from the Nanuk concept, which was recently debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show, 28-year-old transportation designer Sebastian Kunz, created a stylish coupe which has an evolutionary and edgy design.

Starting up front, the model has a prominent grille that is flanked by LED headlights and large air intakes. The sporty styling continues further back as the car has massive alloy wheels and angular side blades that recall the Nanuk.

The 2015 Audi R8 is slated to have a bold front fascia with Matrix LED headlights. We can also expect shorter side blades and a Le Mans inspired "double diffuser."

Engine options remain unconfirmed but rumors have suggested the car will be offered with a 4.2-liter V8 that develops approximately 450 bhp (335 kW) and a 5.2-liter V10 that cranks out roughly 570 bhp (425 kW). Despite being more powerful than its predecessor, the 2015 R8 will be more fuel-efficient as it is expected to use start/stop technology, a cylinder deactivation system and a number of carbon fiber and carbon fiber reinforced plastic components.

Re: 2015 Audi R8

Worldcarfans has echoed the Audi announcement of the new R8 production.

Audi has announced the next-generation R8 will go into production at the company's new Böllinger Höfe facility starting in mid-2014.

Audi didn't have much to say about the model but the 23 hectare site will have body manufacturing, assembly and logistics facilities.

In a statement, Plant Manager Fred Schulze said “The new production facility is a key element for the future viability and competitiveness of the Audi site." His sentiments were echoed by quattro GmbH Managing Director Franciscus van Meel who commented “All of our manufacturing expertise for the R8 will then be completely consolidated under one roof. This will enable us to optimize our production process and further expand our small-scale production expertise at the Neckarsulm site."
