I mean 4 cylinder techno jazz is good but if you buy a pony car you buy it for its deep burbly exhaust note and the overall feel of a chilled out V8 under the vast hood on top of that the car looks like an overgrown Taurus with a Mustang-ish rear.

Well, this is just the beginning as there is speculation that this Mustang may get a Diesel & a Hybrid powerplant too

Also keep in mind that the 2.3 is not the cheap engine on offer here. The base model still gets the V6. The 2.3 is the mid range engine in the lineup. I believe the 2.3 has forged internals so I guess the possibilities are endless with that one. Overall I love the new Mustang. IMO it appeals to a much wider audience.

A special edition of the 2015 Ford Mustang was unveiled Wednesday to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the pony car at the New York International Auto Show.
The special Mustang, made to incorporate many of the styling cues of the 1960s original. Ford will only build 1,964 of the car, making it a very exclusive version that will be in high demand by collectors. The only options for the 50 Year Limited Edition are the choice of two exclusive colors (Wimbledon White or Kona Blue) and a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.

@stanjohn123, I couldnt agree more. It would be a great Halo car for Ford in India. Alan Mulally is not the CEO of Ford anymore, he is replaced by Mark Fields.

Hi Stanjohn123,

If this is launched in India with a modern suspension system, a well planted connected steering system with precise feedback (hydraulics, I hope!) then you can add me to the list of customers.

However, 60-65 lacs seems rather high don't you think? The sweet spot pricing should be 20-22 lacs for the V6, 25-27 for the 4 pot eco boost and 30-33 lacs for the V8. The whole point of a muscle car is that it should be accessible to the general public. Granted that these prices are beyond the reach of a large majority of the car buying Indian public. But the On-road price of a 65 lakh rupee car in Bangalore will be around 80 lakhs, at which point the mustang will find few takers. For a lifestyle car, that price point starts putting it within a 9 iron to M4/Nissan GTR prices which may make many to save up more money and buy those instead. It will also be more expensive than V6 options from the 5/E/6 series which are more practical as well as prestigious and many Mustang customers will be lost.
