| Distinguished - BHPian  | Audi's EV is based on Volkswagen Up! Coming in 2015 In a bid to become the world's top selling luxury carmaker, Audi is planning to introduce several new products. Audi will develop Q6, Q8 and a new car based on the Volkswagen Up!. Audi is allegedly working on an EV version of the Volkswagen UP which will be out in 2015.  The new model will adopt different exterior styling and a more upscale interior cabin which will feature a better infotainment system. The battery will provide enough juice for up to 125 miles (200 km) before recharging, more than the up! which can only do 93 miles (150 km) with its 18.7 kWh battery pack. Audi's up! will also be more powerful than VW's version as it is expected to provide 114 bhp (85 kW) and 199 lb-ft (270 Nm) from its electric motor which should be enough for a 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in a decent 9.3 seconds before reaching a top speed of 93 mph (150 km/h) Cheers! http://www.worldcarfans.com/11304275...-2015---report |

| re: Audi's EV is based on Volkswagen Up! Coming in 2015 Front grille and headlight area looks better than VW Up IMHO. Also, looks like Audi would introduce a rear quarter glass, which hopefully will make the rear bench airier. Seroiusly hope they name it better than Up! If they are hell-bent on cardinal directions, 'Forward' would be much better, given we are talking about a car and not a helicopter!  |
