We all know Camaro and Mustang rivalry as perfectly summarized by GM VP as the two cars that have been striving to beat each other on the track, on the drag strip and on the streets.

Amidst one of the most intense, model-to-model rivalries in the industry, Chevy has released this heartfelt congratulations to the Mustang on its 50th Anniversary, with a statement, "we look forward to another 50 years of rivalry."

Prelude: The Ford Mustang was introduced 50 years ago on an April 17th, creating an entirely new class of transportation, the pony car. Chevrolet introduced the Camaro three years later, creating one of the most enduring rivalries in the automotive industry.
