Re: Alfa Romeo Giulia (159 replacement) spotted testing

http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/car-new...hief-engineer/

A fascinating, good article from the Giulia's chief engineer's mouth. This car's driving-centric engineering is rare these days, and will be central to the new Alfa Romeo model range's (6-8 cars/sporty cuv-s by 2018) branding, its brand-identity-story-promise.

The tagline for the new Alfa-s will be 'the Mechanics of Emotion' in Italian, which makes it recognizable in any modern language as anything-but-Herr German. ;-)

Re: Alfa Romeo Giulia (159 replacement) spotted testing

It looks a little bit too mainstream for an Alfa. I was expecting Alfa to go a little more mainstream when they introduced the Mito. The 4C is a pleasant surprise though. Anyway, it still is a lot more interesting than the Germans.

I thought so too, but looking again at the first of the two cabin pics, it's apparent the person has his index-finger on the start/stop button (probably turning on accessory mode or something).

The entire engine line up leaked ahead of official unveiling!
The Guilia will have three engine types with varying output. The 2.0-liter four-banger will get 200 hp, 250 hp, and 280 horsepower depending on the spec. The 2.2-liter four-cylinder will start at 150 horses, move up to 180 horsepower, and cap off at 210 ponies. The most exciting engine is said to be "inspired by Ferrari" and will be a 2.9-liter turbocharged V6 with rear wheel drive, an optional double clutch transmission or manual, and either 490 to 500 horsepower. All models will be rear-wheel drive except the 250 horsepower and 280 horsepower 2.0 liters as well as the 2.2-liter 210 horsepower version (which get AWD).

Another perspective of how the New Giulia was born, I am sure you being the most informed enthusiast, would have watched it already. If not, please go through the below-enclosed youtube link and suggest your views.

An open claim on how Giulia QV was made ready in 2 years, I am sure it s not a contraption but well sorted at best.
