For me it looks more like an amateurish fan made video than an official teaser. Seems like an attempt gone wrong by Volkswagen trying to make things funky. To be honest, there is nothing teasing about this.

Talking about the car, I really hope Volkswagen bring this to India soon.
From initial images, car looks really slick and will surely resolve the biggest drawback of present generation i.e near non-existent rear legroom.

On the other hand, the car does look more planted and lower than before, probably because of the increased wheelbase?

I can already predict them selling like hot cakes in mods own country at least.

The car definitely looks wider - carries the trend started by i20 and Baleno both of which broke the 1695mm width barrier. Hope this translates into more space inside. However, this Polo is not going to make it to India is it? If I remember correctly, the Indian Polo would continue to be based on the current platform, with modifications of course.
The "Teaser" videos are incredibly crude and amateurish like other have pointed out. The feel is of an old 60s or 70s commercial. The typography looks like done by someone for a high school project.
In fact the first one should even make it to the Jokes thread. They had me at "Reliable"

Officially to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

VW is having a crash crunch, and we all do know that fact. But no one really expected that to affect the Marketing budget so much Teasers really do look like they were made by VW employees who volunteered to help the Marketing team
Now, I really hope this budget crunch has not affected the product development process or the quality levels!

India is unlikely to get the MQB Polo nor the Brazilian version based on the modified platform. The same logic holds good also for the Gen Next Vento (Virtus).

Either ways be prepared for VW India to offer the current sold version with many more facelits. A new model for India will happen not earlier than 2019.

For the Indian market, Volkswagen has entered into an alliance with Tata Motors over the use of Tata’s AMP platform to develop indigenous cars for the market. So, while Volkswagen could be eyeing the replacement of the Polo in India as well, it is not yet known if they will bring in a re-engineered version of the all-new international model or launch an indigenously developed alternative.

Looks Interesting. I sincerely hope this time VW won't cut corners and launch Polo here with all the bells and whistles (sunroof & other gizmos) as European varient. Indian consumer is really tired of seeing all stripped down version of international products here. After all VW is known here in Indian market primarily by Polo, it's there bread and butter so to speak

VW is believed to consolidate its engine offerings for the new Polo, with base models getting a revised 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder petrol available in a number of outputs ranging from 65PS to 115PS. There will also be a larger 1.5-liter turbo four petrol sourced from the Golf with 130PS and 150PS. The diesel range will likely include a 1.6-liter four offered in 80-110PS guises.

The sportiest model of the range, the Polo GTI that’s pictured here, is rumored to get the 200PS (197hp) 2.0-liter TSI from the fifth-generation Golf GTI
