On Top Gear. What a beauty. And listen to the engine - sounds like there's a war on.

Many thanks. Did you notice the throttle on the steering wheel?

Cool firing. Rather Hot firing!

Way cool. And fiat had this fetish for steering wheel mounted controls for decades

This engine is just astonishing for its time never mind the displacement. If Fiat could do this in 1910, where did they falter and how!
"Fittingly nicknamed ‘The Beast Of Turin', the S76 was built in 1910 with the express intention of beating the land speed record, held at the time by Blitzen-Benz. As well as the sort of engine displacement normally reserved for supertankers, it boasted - by the standards of the day - some pretty cutting-edge hardware: four valves per cylinder, multi-spark and overhead cam technology helping it produce something in the region of 300bhp. 300bhp! In 1910!"

They did not falter just consolidated super car business under Ferrari umbrella and now FIAT is spinning Ferrari in to a different company by bringing IPO in 2015
