BMW reveals refreshed 6-Series range ahead of Detroit Show German automaker BMW has revealed refreshed versions of its 6-Series range of cars, which includes the coupe, convertible, Grand Coupe and the M6.
The 2015 6-Series features minimal changes to the exterior. These include an altered kidney grille with nine bars (current model has ten), new headlights with LED main beams and revised front and rear bumpers. The cars also get newly designed 20-inch alloy wheels and the exterior paintwork includes new shades such as Jatoba metallic, Cashmere Silver metallic, Glacier Silver metallic, Mediterranean Blue metallic and Melbourne Red metallic.
Coming to the interiors, customers can choose between Dakota or Napa leather upholstery, which is now also available for the new BMW 6 Series models in the bi-colour variants Ivory White/Black and Cognac/Black. Fineline Brown wood trim has been added to the selection of optional interior trims. The cars are equipped with features such as iDrive, climate control, LED illumination, heads-up display and optional Harman Kardon or Bang & Olufsen sound systems.
Under the hood, the 6-Series range features the same engines as the current models. However, BMW claims that they offer better performance and fuel efficiency than before. All engines comply with Euro-6 emission standards. Petrol engine options include a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine which puts out 315 hp (640i), a 4.4-liter V8 engine with 445 hp (650i). The M6 coupe, M6 convertible and M6 Gran Coupe get a 4.4-liter turbocharged V8 engine good for 560 hp. The 640d comes with diesel engine that produces 309 hp.
The 6-Series range will make its public debut at the Detroit Motor Show in January 2015. |
