Ford Mustang 2015 - 50th Birthday celebrations in Sydney Ford looks to prepare Australians for the launch of the iconic Mustang in late 2015 with their latest endeavor coinciding with the Sydney New Year fireworks as the backdrop. Back in March/April 2014, the Mustang made its way up the Empire State Building where it was disassembled so it could be taken up the elevators, and later assembled overnight. A similar stunt was also performed where the same Mustang made its way to the 112th floor of the Burj Khalifa tower in Dubai.
In Australia, Ford has been facing flak from enthusiasts with their decision to mark the end of the Ford Falcon, which along with the Holden Commodore have been largely recognized as icons of Australian motoring. Ford seems to offer some solace with bringing the Mustang to Australia aimed at the enthusiasts. As part of this approach, they have launched a pre-order website for dealers where bookings can be made for the Mustang. As per online reports, they already have 600+ confirmed bookings.
Whether the Mustang will command the same sort of following here, as that enjoyed by the Falcon, only time can tell. |
