HM Ambassador 1.5 - Plain and simple. I knew what was placed where and the big and tall engine bay meant there was a lot of space to work on it. That made things very easy.
The most advanced engine I have seen is the one in the Mercedes Benz SL55 AMG. But then, you can hardly see anything and just forget about working on it.

Imagine trying to figure out what is where in the engine bay of a Porsche, then!
Most detailed and aethetically pleasing engine for me would have to be the 6.0L V12 in the Mclaren F1.
Easiest engine to poke around for me, the one in my 1970 FIAT 1100D. HM's Isuzu plant would be somewhere cloase too, but i was too young to remember the engine in my Amby.

I'd have to say the 7.3 litre V12 in the Pagani Zonda from AMG is one of the most beautifully placed, crafted and designed engine.

The McLaren V12 from BMW is another, like ported pointed it out.

One, though that still catches my eye is the 360 Modena/CS engine. That view of the engine from the transparent cover of the red-engine mount and that classy V8 when its being revved is something totally from another planet.

Hey Kokaine,

Cool topic.

Well i would have to say that i cant really answer this question with one answer, however one awesome view of an engine is the Ford GT40 engine, becoz when that clamshell opens up its basically this monster of an engine totally accessible from the sides, with two MASSIVE and WIDE tires on either side of it....oh man..awesome.

Then theres this guy, the E60 M5 engine.... great engine... heres an awesome picture -

Then ofcourse the absolute beast of the viper engine. Those snaking manifolds look quite apt!

Then theres the Mustang GT-r engine.... those chromed intakes look awesome...

Heres an old Merc SLR enginebay...check out the intake!!!

Heres a carrera GT engine being tested! *(i like my manifolds glowing red :P *)

And talking about manifolds....check these pipes out -

Well thats about it for the pictures!
I have to say that some of the most beautiful engines however are the older ones, before they simplified everything in the engine bay. Some crazy intake and exhaust manifold designs and maybe brass or copper pushrod houseing tubes.... nice stuff.

cheers
R
