SPIED: Next-generation 2017 Hyundai Verna!

Fan of Audi design but cant afford one? Welcome to Hyundai. Same design elements as the face lifted Audis currently being launched. What's more. You might be lucky enough to find BMW and Mercedes design cues too. 3 German cars (by looks) in a single car for the price of 1/12th of it! 😅

Good Lord!

re: SPIED: Next-generation 2017 Hyundai Verna. EDIT: Unveiled in China

The concept looks super ! Hyundai is going to be No.1 once again with the next gen Verna ! Honda commands great respect in India but Hyundai is not far behind. In fact the current generation was No.1 for at least 3 years (before the 2014 city arrived) and this means that Indians will buy the more modern and VFM car irrespective of the brand.

I don't think that's entirely true. The main reason for low sales of Honda City is the lack of diesel option at a time the difference between petrol and diesel prices were almost Rs 30.

re: SPIED: Next-generation 2017 Hyundai Verna. EDIT: Unveiled in China

The design looks like an evolution of the present form - which isn't a bad thing!

Looking forward to this hitting our shores - should be a perfect all rounder, given how a key weakness in older Hyundais (the suspension) has been considerably improved in the newer variants.
Throw in typical hyundai traits of class leading features, interior quality, and competent engines; it sure sounds like a winner.

re: SPIED: Next-generation 2017 Hyundai Verna. EDIT: Unveiled in China

Looks gorgeous. Like the front, the headlamps stand out.
Side profile looks similar to present model. Alloys are too similar to the Terrano.
Rear is good as there is no Chrome. Let's wait and watch if the Indian version carries anything additional (a chrome strip).

Wonder if the shark-fin antenna is again replaced by this tiny one as seen in the pics.

All in all, the looks department are a positive sign. The features will be open to speculation.

Thanks for sharing !

Looks Fantastic, Especially the tail lamp ! Will that Black interior and minimum chrome theme (barring the grill) be there in Indian version ? Or will it be a sea of beige and loads of chrome ?

Re: SPIED: Next-generation 2017 Hyundai Verna. EDIT: Unveiled in China

Front looks good. However, I did not like the side and the rear profiles. Looks bland. Also, the interiors seems to be a step down from the existing Hyundais on sale in India. This may have an initial spike in sales but seems unlikely to dent the stonking run of the Ciaz or surpass the City.

Re: SPIED: Next-generation 2017 Hyundai Verna. EDIT: Unveiled in China

It looks more of an evolutionary design rather than a complete new model. The interiors look quite bland. I doubt if the whole package will appeal to buyers against established players like the City and Ciaz.

Re: SPIED: Next-generation 2017 Hyundai Verna. EDIT: Unveiled in China

The car looks like an upgrade, and by the dimensions, it isn't going to be substantially more spacious than the outgoing model. Verna was number one till 2014 because Honda did not have a diesel mill that time, and Suzuki had the sx4 to fight with.

As someone already said, it may garner initial spike in sales. It currently sells 1500~2000 units. It may go to 2500~3500 units. I dont think this car can dethrone Ciaz or even get City's spot unless they price it very aggressively. Lets also not forget that Honda will be bringing 2017 City and Toyota will be upping their game with Vios. It is going to be interesting.

Re: SPIED: Next-generation 2017 Hyundai Verna. EDIT: Unveiled in China

Isn't that interior a step down in terms of design ! A little disappointed considering Hyundai has been upping the game in the previous years. The overall design of the car is mature and will appeal to a large audience. I do agree with fellow members that this new model doesn't have what it takes to dethrone the likes of the city and ciaz.

Re: SPIED: Next-generation 2017 Hyundai Verna. EDIT: Unveiled in China

Wow, I can't make up my mind when I see pictures of the new Verna. It looks glossy and shiny from the right angles, but it appears to be too kitsch for my taste. It reminds me of Hyundais of pre-fluidic era which were copy paste or mish mash of other nice cars.
