Re: Upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLC (GLK replacement) spied testing

Prototype / Mule of the GLC has already been reviewed by Autocar;

Even from this short off-road experience, then, there’s enough promise here to suggest that the GLC will be a very credible rival to the X3 and Q5. If anything, it feels a strong enough package to embarrass the GLE (the new name for ML), with as much off-road ability as many buyers will need, a plush enough cabin that’s scarcely any less practical and, one presumes, a tidy saving on purchase and running costs. Merc’s British dealers are about to get their wish, therefore, but quite a few customers could end up considering the GLC a bit of a result too.

Re: Upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLC (GLK replacement) spied testing

Mercedes-Benz has finally revealed the GLC-Class SUV. The model replaces the GLK-Class and features the German automaker's new design characteristics. The styling on the SUV was previewed by the concept GLC-Coupe, that was seen in April this year.

Re: Upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLC (GLK replacement) spied testing

Looks smashing to say the least. Frankly the current competition doesnt stand a chance against this one. The Q5 looks is too old now and the X3 has already had its mid life makeover. If and when this is launched it will take Mercedes to greater heights. Simply love the ML type looks with decent proportions. Very classy with nothing over done.

Have to say current Mercedes designs make their car even more desirable as if the heritage value of the badge wasn't enough.

Hope they keep it in the range of the C Class and not price it at like 50 lacs ex showroom. They should also launch it with local assembly and not as a CBU.

Looks great. I did feel the bonnet shut line with the headlights made it look a bit "joint eyebrowed". Love the interiors and it isn't filled with switches and buttons like other Mercs. When it comes to India it should be priced higher than the C-class shouldn't it? That's usually how it is here.

Re: Upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLC (GLK replacement) spied testing

Any update of the launch date of GLC in India?

Seems to be a good alternative to the GLE, launched recently, in terms of size and interiors (derived from the new C class sedan).

Pricing will be key to its success as both X3 and Q5 its direct competitors are a bit dated now.

Seems like GLC will be coming to India by mid-2016. Check this out

The Mercedes GLC has been showcased at the 2015 Thailand Motor Expo. The successor to the Mercedes GLK will be making its Indian debut in the middle of next year.
EDIT: It will be worth noting to see how Merc responds to the recent SC verdict being discussed here and if this impacts the release date

Re: Upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLC (GLK replacement) spied testing

The media drive is happening in Coorg, there were quite a few tweets about it. Petrol and diesel versions, with the petrol, Mercedes has found a way to skirt the NCR ban on diesels which has hit them really hard.

The diesel engine is the 220d, the 170 BHP version, the petrol is called GLC300 having nearly 240 BHP, closer to the 28i engines from BMW.
