No, I don't think so. Unfortunately these things things sometimes happen. No conspiracy, just an individual being more stupid then normally.

Just picked up the latest UK version of the TopGear magazine, June issue. No kore JC column. May and Hammond are still there with their usual column. Also, the second part of "the story of TopGear TV" by Andy Wilman. Very interesting if you like that sort of stuff.

Top Gear Presenters Not Allowed To Go To ITV Until 2017

Recent rumors into the ex-Top Gear presenters have suggested that the three may be looking into creating a new cars show with ITV. Clarkson, Hammond, May and their executive producer, Andy Wilman have reportedly met with ITV boss Peter Fincham to discuss the possibility of the trio working with the channel.

It was then unearthed that a small clause within their BBC contracts states that the presenters are not able to work with another channel until 2017. This leaves the trio in the a bit a predicament. Either sign with an online channel such as Netflix or Amazon, and risk the show not becoming as popular as it would with mainstream channels, or wait until 2017 where the three can start a new show with a tv channel in the UK.

In the mean time, while the fuss over their contracts is sorted out, Clarkson, Hammond and May still have to complete their world tour of Clarkson, Hammond and May Live, starting in Australia this month and finishing in London in November.

The former top gear trio have now signed up to present a motoring program in Amazon Streaming services. The first season is expected to be made available in 2016.

Top Gear trio Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May have signed to present a new car show on the Amazon Prime streaming service in one of the biggest coups in TV history.

The programme will air for the first time next year and be produced by former Top Gear executive Andy Wilman, an old school friend of Clarkson’s who is credited with revamping the format and turning it into the world’s most successful factual TV show.

Amazon Prime have apparently given the trio complete control over creative. Hopefully their new show will include similar production values of Top Gear. The sarcasm, stabs and goofish tomfoolery will be included by default
