The next generation Cruze has been spied completely undisguised. The car was caught on the set of a photo shoot in Southern California. As seen in the images, the car features similar styling traits as those seen on the Volt EV.

Up front we see a larger Chevrolet split grill with the brand logo sitting directly on the vent, chrome accents and day-time running LEDs. The side profile is bulky, but a healthy dose of character lines give the car a more chiseled look. Also seen is a chrome lining around the window, chrome accented door handles, a shark fin radio aerial and blackened B-pillars.

At the rear, the bumper’s bulk is cut by a black insert with integrated reflectors. The car also features a roof integrated stop light, boot lip spoiler and front grill’s design is mimicked by the number plate housing.

As per the report, the car will feature a 1.5L, 4-cylinder, turbo-charged petrol engine and a dual clutch transmission may on the books as well. Select markets are likely to see the Cruze as a hatchback and wagon as well, while an oil burner will be offered for diesel centric markets like Europe. It isn't known if this version of the Cruze will be brought to India as well.

It's a Hondai !
The American lost its muscle. Mixed design without any family trait. First it was Beat, now this.
Current gen Cruze isn't a perfect car , but the bold design makes it stand out.
It was VFM when launched. The Chinese cruze looks better than this international version.

Very generic styling and looks very Asian. The muscular styling which was the USP of the Cruze is gone. Slap a Honda badge on the car and it can pass off as a Civic. From the back it looks like the Maruti Ciaz .

That sloping roof is going to mess up a lot of hair styles for sure!

The headlamp looks like inverted Merc E-Class headlamps which gives the front an E-class infused Honda city look The rear looks like a modified BMW 3 series. Got so much of inspiration from the Japanese and Koreans, but IMHO the car is appealing and doesn't look odd. Might be because of the photo angles, it looks so small compared to the on going model, anyone else felt the same ?

Rightly nailed, this is the same thought that came to my mind after looking at the pictures. Furthermore the front looks more like the second generation Honda City and the rear looks as if taken from the Hyundai Xcent.

Being the owner of a current generation Cruze, I must say that GM has killed the muscular looks of Cruze.

This looks more in the lines of Honda R18 Civic front + Hyundai Elantra rear. Though a mix of the best looking cars in India (IMO), doesn't quite live up to the muscular look of it's predecessor.

I will say that Looks are Subjective.
And I actually like the design. I think after the new Ford GT they are moving towards more streamline design. I think the problem is not about that ''flowing'' design but the FRONT GRILL.
If they just somehow join the 2 separate looking grills, it will look Fantastic.

2016 Chevrolet Cruze interior teased, debuts on June 24th.




The cabin will have a multi-function steering wheel, chrome trim and a push-button ignition. We can also see blue backlighting, revised switchgear and accent stitching on the dashboard.

However, the real coup de grâce is a new MyLink infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. Both systems 'project' key smartphone features and apps onto the infotainment system so drivers can easily access things such as messages, maps and music.

New 2016 Chevrolet Cruze unveiled;

Second-generation Chevrolet Cruze is lighter, longer and more efficient than its predecessor.

The new Chevrolet Cruze’s interior gets a dual-cockpit design and comes with a piano-black or brushed aluminum finish along with multiple soft-touch surfaces on the dash and other parts. A large screen sits at the centre of the dash and is surrounded by two vertical AC vents.

The new Cruze is longer than its predecessor; it adds 15mm more to its wheelbase and 69mm to its overall length of 4666mm. It also offers more interior room than the earlier model and an additional rear knee room of 51mm. The new Chevrolet Cruze petrol sold in North America is lighter than its predecessor by around 113kg

For the North American market, the new Chevrolet Cruze will come with an all-new 1.4-litre turbo petrol motor good for 153bhp mated to a six-speed manual gearbox or an optional six-speed auto. According to GM, the new Cruze will hit 96kph in 8 seconds. GM will add a new range of diesel engines for the Cruze line-up in 2017.

The new Chevrolet Cruze will be eventually sold in 40 international markets and will be available in both Left-hand and right-hand drive configurations.

It is expected to reach Indian showrooms in 2017.

The press release pics make it look nice but the car looks unimpressive in the spy shots. It has an overtly strong "Asian" look to it. The design seems like a cross between the current gen Honda city and the current gen Corolla
