Just went through an article that explains why Toyota's Land cruisers are so expensive. It seems its not only in India where it costs a bomb. Its the same story everywhere else too.

Have exchanged the rear trunk door and lights with the existing Lexus LX570.

Amazing article.
The Land Cruiser's reliability rating is 100 where as the average miles is 1,77,xxx miles which is a lot more than the industrial average of 1,25,000miles.
It also says that each part is designed for a service life of 25 years 😳, I seriously doubt that part though. 25 years is way too long I feel.

Arabs are going crazy on this one. They love the LC, let it be the 70, 80, 100 or the 200.

Lot of pre-facelift models(2008-2011) were getting updated with the new look (2012+) in the GCC. That process is going to be difficult with the current facelift. However, I don't think they have done any major changes to the body panels of the LC as the side profile looks the same. Loved the new LED rear lights. Looks similar to the current LX570 ones.

The straight six 1FZ-FE engine in the LC100 was a very reliable engine. I have heard numerous stories of the 4.0 1GR-FE V6 being rebuilt for the Desert Safari vehicles, which gets abused almost every day in the deserts of UAE. 1FZ-FE used to take the abuse pretty well.

For normal use, the LC 200 is very reliable. The normal use vehicles have a good lifespan and you will be able to find pristine condition ones from the 2008 MY. They also carry a good re-sale value in this market. The ME dealers offer 3 engine options (4.0 V6, 4.6 V8 & 5.7 V8) with two gearboxes (5A for the V6 & 6A for V8) and multiple trim options.

In comparison Nissan Patrol has only one engine option (5.6 V8) with two power ratings (320 BHP & 400 BHP) and two different gear boxes (5A for 320 & 7A for 400). It is costly as well, starting at a much higher bracket than the LC200.

Yep, looks like some vending machine.
Except the wheels and the steering wheel, I don't know why they have to make everything rectangular and cubic just to make it look macho.
Why can't some cues be taken off the Range Rover?

I used to own a 2005 Land Cruiser GX-R in Dubai. It was a beautiful vehicle and I had no engineering problem, after having driven more than 100,000 Kms. But I have always felt that the car didn't offer exciting features. It didn't even have a cruise control or leather seats. That too, it was the top of the range GX-R.

Toyota has launched the Land Cruiser 200 facelift in Japan. The car has been priced at Yen 4,728,437 - 6,825,600 (approximately Rs. 25 - 36 lakh).
