Volvo's flagship S80 sedan is on its way out, and the teaser campaign for its successor has just begun. The Swedish automaker has published the first teaser images of the S90 sedan ahead of its expected debut at the 2016 Detroit motor show.

IMO the headlights look a little overdone but the car is a huge step forward in the looks department. Volvo is coming back with a bang to India and their product line is starting with the XC90, S90 and hopefully many many more.Kudos to Volvo for making a comeback to India and seeing safety as the main in portable of their cars!

Probable Powertrains: T5: 245 HP, T6: 316 HP, T8 hybrid: 407 HP. And a Polestar variant with hybrid power too.

I do not like the way it looks (very cadilacish and what is with those tailights! the complete opposite of subtle and sophisticated) and do not like the interiors either. I am pro technology but the technology should work in the background. You can have beautiful machined metal aircon controls interfacing the user in the front but could have technology working in the background to give you an idea. That is exactly how Bentley's of this world do suitable old school luxury convincingly and yet are technologically loaded. I am not suggesting that Volvo should have aped Bentley because at their price point they can't but atleast they should have thought on the same lines.

The German's have this one covered very easily. I would take an E Class/5 Series/A6 over this one any which day. The Big Benz S-Class is in a different league altogether.

Such a bold yet understated design language in use here! wow! stunned, this one has much more character than the designs from Germany.

Just like how the xc90 looks spectacular in flesh, more so than the pics, I am sure this one is stunning in real.

Barring those tail lights, the rear resembles the Mustang I believe. The 9 inch touchscreen infotainment system means one needs to take off the eyes from road.

Volvo has really taken a huge leap with the current designs of the S90 and XC90. The interiors are now probably the ones to beat in terms of technology, luxury and design. Audi interiors IMHO look the poorest amongst the new generation of cars.

Range Rover is a brand to compete with today for the Germans and its all because of design and interior styling IMHO. The new Volvo's seem to have the formula to repeat that kind of success now.

Hope the Uber rich in India can accept the Volvo brand at 70Lakh plus !

The S.90 looks handsome, has just the right degree of understatement and carries those stately looks that once belonged to Mercedes. At Rs 70L this is a buy in my eyes.

The most likely Taxi's I get here are Mercedes E Class, BMW 5 series, Volvo S80/V70 and Skoda Superb. of all, the seats on a Volvo are by far the best.

The Instrument panel on the existing S80/V70 itself looks retrained but beautiful. I am sure the new gen S90 will only be better both aesthetically and Comfort-wise. Will be in Gothenburg next week. hope to see it.

and I saw the Sedan and the Estate in the design office. Restrained beauty. It's the quality of the materials that gives the feeling of luxury. The estate has lost the 'box' shape that it has been known for. the rear end styling on the sedan is a hit or miss. some I spoke to don't like it as much as they like the ones on the S60.
