Quite amazing, not so good PR for the new Alpine though. I have seen it several times at various car exhibitions in Europe. Would love to have one, that is the one with the non-bursting into flames option obviously!

Re: Chris Evans replaces Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear. EDIT: Evans steps down!

What to do when it's snowing like there's no tomorrow? Catch up on Top Gear!

Saw the first episode of season 25. And I didn't like it at all. There's 0 chemistry between the presenters, their news/celebrity section is so unequivocally lack lusture and Matt LeBlanc just doesn't work as a host in my opinion. Chris Harris is great, as usual. Rory Reid...meh. For some reason, I just don't get Americans or American cars or their culture. Fast food is ok, but their cars are just awful as is their style of presentation. No more Top Gear for me. Grand Tour was way better, apart from the season finale in Mozambique which was quite boring. I'd rather just watch their reruns until this snowstorm blows over

You said it. It was horrible. The entire episode was so scripted and absolutely no continuity (one scene the cars are dirty and the next scene it's all clean. Then vice versa). Although I tend to watch even though some are boring, this one was the extreme and I didnt finish it.

Matt LeBlanc is to leave Top Gear after the next series.

LeBlanc said that despite Top Gear being "great fun", the "time commitment and extensive travel... takes me away from my family and friends more than I'm comfortable with."
Link to the BBC article here.

So, season 26 will be his last. Wonder, who they are going to get to replace him.

Paddy McGuinness and Fred Flintoff (ex english cricketer) to replace Matt Le Blanc at BBC's Top gear.

Rory Reid is also gone from the show. It seems to me that the show will collapse soon. A comedian and an ex-cricketer in a automobile show? I don't think that works IMO

Watched episode 1 and 2 of season 26 and it was business as usual - (some bits were marginally better than before). Loved the roads in Norway and the last bit of that clip was ok. Camera was pretty good but can't keep up with Grand Tour (That keeps better each time). The challenges are similar to the ones we have seen before but there's a difference when you watch Clarkson, May and Hammond .

Re: Chris Evans replaces Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear. EDIT: Evans steps down!

Well as an old Topgear fan, I wasn't really expecting anything great at all from this new Trio for season 27. But I was pleasantly surprised, Chris Harris, Andrew Flintoff and Paddy McGuiness IMO has done a very good job in their first episode of the new series. It's a strange combination of presenters, but a very interesting one. 2 northerners and a southerner, and they seem to have hit it off.
Be prepared to hear many northern phrases, ' Ey up', 'Bellend' etc. Chris will be the resident car expert and race car driver among the trio. After the first episode, I think BBC may finally have found the presenters to fill those 3 pairs of shoes left by the Clarkson, Hammond and May. Still very early days, and they will have to ensure that the 'banter' does not make it too 'laddish'. I did hear a few words which were a bit too much for a 8.00 PM show.
Fingers crossed and all the best to the new team.

Agree to above comment by Rejoy. I was surprised too. Their combination seemed much much better than Chris, Matt and Rory (that felt too artificial) and Paddy/Andy was indeed interesting and not boring.

Although the film wasn't all that good, I hope it get's interesting as it progresses.

I wish they could get Ed China as one of the presenters.

In my view, the original trio were quite long in the tooth and many here might disagree but I don't like what they are doing at the Grand Tour as well.

Ed China is the guy who brings solid expertise and his knowledge can add a new dimension to the entertainment quotient

The top gear group on facebook is showing some interest in the new cast of the show. Are they any good?
If it's any good, I'll make an effort, so any reviews, please?

Yes, they're fairly good. I'd been holding my review till I saw atleast 3-4 good episodes back to back, and they've not disappointed thus far. The characterisation of the 3 hosts is working rather well on screen.

Definitely watch it.

Did watch. I love the chemistry of the original stooges, that's unbeatable. However, this guys are fair too. However, I disliked the bullying of Chris Harris. I remember how it was all verbal in TG, but the cricketer is a little over the top. Funny, though.
With all the money Amazon has put up, the visuals of TG are still the best.... In the world.
I wish the grand tour had the TG camera guy. It's just brilliant.

All in all, this seems watchable.
