Several Defender fans including Bear Grylls were invited last month at the factory to help put together the one-off Defender which comes with several exterior and interior tweaks. Starting on the outside, the map of Red Wharf Bay - where the original model was drawn in sand - has been engraved on the aluminum fender while the body wears a Silver Satin paint scheme. The back of the car hosts a "no 2,000,000" badge and there is a special Santorini Black look for the wheels, door hinges, wheel arches, mirror caps and grille. Stepping inside the cabin, it has leather-wrapped seats with a "Red Wharf Bay" graphic and "no 2,000,000" logos stitched onto the headrests. Fitted to the driver's seat plinth is an aluminum plaque that has been signed by everyone who helped assembly the car. Land Rover has also installed "S90 HUE" registration plates as a throwback to their first pre-production model's "HUE 166" plates. As a final touch, the interior cabin hosts a "2,000,000" badge on the center console. |
