Watch episode 5. I think it is one of the very best of Grand Tour, and that's not considering just this season.

The whole episode is just so beautifully put together with the bit about Jim Clark one of the best tributes ever! It's not often you see even Jeremy well up a bit Infront of camera.

And I am going to miss all this if they go into a specials only format.

Was catching up some old episodes of TG, when it struck me - wish they bring back the "cool wall" in some form or the other. That used to be a truly entertaining segment

Second, that, was the best episode of the season so far, how versatile driver he was? What surprised me more was how he managed to grab all those wins despite a tight schedule which looks tough even for this modern day with a world better connected. As May mentioned there were no flat beds on plane those days, jet lags, transfers and what not.

The bit in Ep 5 abut the Urus vs 911 Turbo race. that was some epic camerawork and Clarkson has serious driving skills!

Oh boy, what an episode!

Senna's tribute was right at the top for me but now it's Clark's story. What a brilliant piece of video.

Loved the Urus video as well. My love for that SUV keeps getting stronger. Lucky that I got a chance to sit in one and revv the nuts of it .

The next episode seems to be a bit down on energy (3 classic cars). But I hope the episode after that will be similar to this.

While everyone's been raving about the last episode, to me this one ranked lower than others in this season. Sure, I liked the tribute segment, but the Urus, as well as all the horse talk wasn't really interesting to me.

And after a run of five excellent episodes, the sixth episode was boring and a waste of time. Even Jeremy Clarkson admitted that at the end of the show. In his words "so the entire show has been a total waste of time, It's an hour of your life you"ll never get back".

IMHO, The only highlight of episode-6 was the Chinese made NIO EP9 & some amazing vistas of China.

Re: Top Gear trio returns with "The Grand Tour" on Amazon Prime!

Was there ever an episode of top gear where the three drive replicas of 80's/90's super-cars?
I seem to remember seeing them hooning around in some decrepit location in Europe or somewhere, one of them was a red (obviously) Fakerrari. Or maybe my mind is just making up its own TG content?

.
It was a waste of two classic German cars. They were not even pushed hard up the hill!

I believe in the last episode when Clarkson was talking about how easy it is to get a license in India , this is what he was referring to.

Re: Top Gear trio returns with "The Grand Tour" on Amazon Prime!

XUV3OO had a promotional video of the car traversing the Rann Of Kutch, which made me revisit the Top Gear Botswana special (season 10).

All said, I miss how Jeremy Clarkson used to be & how the trio used to make a brilliant presentation, it seemed SO original. That, along with the hype that surrounded it made it quite an occasion to enjoy those shows.

I honestly believe it was one of the main reason a fair number of people liked to be travel & car enthusiasts.

The trio have come of age now and it's rather sad that this new show is only a shadow of their earlier shows. Anyway, enough nostalgia, let's carry on.

Re: Top Gear trio returns with "The Grand Tour" on Amazon Prime!

Boy, things are dull out here, two episodes on!

Episode 7 - Italian Cars in Scotland

Lovely scenery but a bit boring. Partly since the cars were too nice to trash.

Episode 8 - RV Edition

My expectations were low but it was really fun since there was some element of originality and it also captured different experiences on the way like dune buggys and trying out some American muscle on track. Ended with a spectacular demolition derby

Episode 9. Loved the James may tribute to the 50th anniversary of the first lunar landing. That bit gave me goosebumps. The adolescent jokes in the rest of the episode were too cringy.

I found the RV episode to be the most boring ever in GT so far. This coming from someone who found the China episode interesting.
