Does that mean they are not coming on then?
Sorry, but meaning to make that joke after watching Season 3 finale.
Not going to lie, it made my nostalgic and teary eyed.
Unfortunately, it also seems like the end for Conversation Street IMHO.

Haha! That reply made my day. I wish they weren’t ending the current format.
Slowly they’ve been fixing the things that were wrong previously like getting rid of the american, celebrity brain crash.
Will definitely miss their banter in conversation street.

'While this is a goodbye from this, it is not a goodbye from us!'

Sort of relieved. And I liked their tours more than the usual shows. So, I am happy that it is going to be all special episodes from now on.

Re: Top Gear trio returns with "The Grand Tour" on Amazon Prime!

Just finished watching The Grand Tour. I have to admit that i was teary eyed and nostalgic about the show format ending. No more fastest lap board, no more tests round the track, no more whimsical tests

I have watched every single season of top gear and Grand tour. I loved the shows for obviously the cars but also for the banter and chemistry these three shared. I know banter will continue in the specials or the tours as well but there was a charm to the studio format. I would say it is the end of an era.

For the last episode, what an tribute to Mondeo. Ford was really on a song till early 2000s.

Eagerly waiting for new season and many more specials like Mongolia, Columbia....... the list is never ending.

Re: Top Gear trio returns with "The Grand Tour" on Amazon Prime!

That last episode definitely left a lump in my throat. JC didn't help at all!

And it was made even more awkward by the tribute to Ford. The news from the Indian market too came this week. So, could relate so much to many bits on that video.

I will definitely miss the banter at the studio by the boys. My favourite section has always been the News or Conversation street all these years. It felt like discussing cars with your own buddies!

And I will also miss these well made episodes. None can say these automotive stories as well as the three boys!

Well! I will close by saying a BIG Thank You!

Re: Top Gear trio returns with "The Grand Tour" on Amazon Prime!

Got a free trial of Amazon Prime Video.

I finished watching TGT Season3 and liked it much better than the previous seasons. The Mongolia special was the BEST. The entire crew must have tortured themselves to have made it possible. Huge respect.

I hope the next season is more like the Mongolia episode and unlike the Caravan episode.

I couldn't help but feel sad and angry after watching "Funeral for Ford". FTD family sedan and hatchback cars are loosing the battle with crossovers. Having bought 3 Ford cars in 10 years I could feel the pain when another Ford sedan nameplate is buried.

BTW I found the entire UI and performance of Prime Video to be poor in comparison to Netflix. Too cluttered.

Found this interview of Clarkson with Eric Bana. One of the few you will see where one can sense how much Jezza loves cars and can equally feel the emotional connect a person has with his vehicle. Loved it!

The Grand Tour's latest tweet.

Torrry Belleci*is an American television personality and model maker, best known for his work on the Discovery Channel television program MythBusters. I am not sure it will be an automobile-based series or something like The Grand tour specials.

And the wait is finally over! The Grand Tour returns with a new special - Seamen on Friday, the 13th of December 2019! I can't control my excitement for this one! It's been a long wait and hopefully there is something very exciting in store for us!

Re: Top Gear trio returns with "The Grand Tour" on Amazon Prime!

Watched it yesterday and I was disappointed.

The episode wasn't scripted well. They had nothing much to add while they struggled with the boats. I even took breaks on and off while the show played and each time it was still the same thing going on without any progress.

During the earlier Mongolia Special, the story progressed meaningfully with interesting events, obstacles & entertaining script while all that happened.

I'd rather Amazon uses its budget to bring good movies to the platform.

Same. I felt it is too spread out. They could have kept it a little short and tighter, it could have been a better watch then.

I agree with your points but I was not disappointed. This trio had raised the bar so high that our expectations are increased. They gave us some excellent "specials" and compared to that S4E1 was dull. For me, boats scattered across dried-up riverbeds like toys, heavy rain, floating villages and final struggle in south China sea were highlights of the show.

Re: Top Gear trio returns with "The Grand Tour" on Amazon Prime!

I liked it, there was not much of the funny jokes/script. But this is one of the most demanding challenges they have done. Going in the rough sea is no joke, jumping in the muddy water is no joke, those places are filled with snakes. Considering their age, we should be thankful that they still set the bar high.

Those who want to watch it just for the laughs, there are plenty of other shows. I subscribed to Amazon prime just to watch these three, there is not much else to watch on Amazon, considering the censorship.

Re: Top Gear trio returns with "The Grand Tour" on Amazon Prime!

Watched it today. Did doze off for a while but then rewind and watched it.

Overall I liked it. It was also informative and usual banter between the three. It was less goofy and disastrous than earlier but still fun to watch.

Being used to them for so long it's bound to happen that people will think it's not as good as anymore.
