It was alright. Nothing spectacular. The Trio's magic seems to be weening off.

This is just my opinion. Contrarily, the Twitteratis are all praise for the Sand Job though saying it is peak Grand Tour like the old days of Top Gear. Perhaps I'll have to see it again to see what I have missed.

Having said that, I'm still looking forward to their last outing in Zimbabwe. Hoping it would be their Swan Song.

Sand job was good. Nothing special or extraordinary. They could not hide the fact that many aspects are staged/pre-determined; unlike some of their previous performances. Its content is borrowed from a lot of their previous episodes; like crossing a river, building a raft, AC breaking down, leaving one behind, drag race on airstrip, etc etc. Overall, a good watch over the weekend. Nothing special, but not boring.

Re: Top Gear trio returns with "The Grand Tour" on Amazon Prime!

I watched it and while it didn't blow my mind, it was definitely not boring. I'd like to look at it from a true Grand Touring perspective. We got to see a country which has almost never been shown on such a show. The locales, the towns.. they were definitely interesting to watch. The whole premise based on which they chose to modify and create those cars also made sense to me.

I do agree however that quite a lot of the stuff shown are mishmash of what we've seen earlier, however not a reason for me to completely sandbag the show from my viewing list.

True. Like the trio, I just realised that such a country existed. As for the show, it was just ok. Not excellent and not boring. Everything seems to be a repeat now and the acting seems to really evident that it's scripted (earlier they did try be natural). Also, felt the cinematography was very ordinary unlike what they used have on the previous edition (Guess the camera man now use less or no filters).

Anyhow, a decent episode and like always waiting for the next one.

They seemed to have backed themselves into a corner with the show's format. Hope they can imbibe some elements of May's 'Our Man in' series with Clarkson's Farm level of unexpected triumphs over adversity at least for the next episode. Their contract ends with the next one but hope someone would be wise enough to extend again.

I really liked the sandjob episode Though i was a bit disappointed at how laid back james may was after seeing his car filled with sand.

Wonder who the fuel truck driver was, coming down that sandy cliff!

But I was hoping they were going to do the show with the cars they had shown at the beginning

C'mon Jeff, loosen the purse strings a bit.

It was relatively more engaging. Respect for the Jag!

I was quite mesmerized by the zombie Mercedes W201 in various levels on deterioriation!
