Re: Spy pics: Toyota C-HR Compact Crossover!

Here are the first pics of the pre series pics of the compact crossover taken at the factory in Turkey.
The first units of the C-HR will be produced at Toyota's factory located in the city of Sakarya, Turkey. The first units to serve the European market are slated to hit stores in June.
As reported in Geneva, the model will be formed by the engine options 1.2 turbo, 1.8 and 2.0 associated with the CVT variant.

Appears in a two tone color scheme and for the less adventurous it comes in the normal color ( as in below pic of the white car)

Re: Spy pics: Toyota C-HR Compact Crossover!

With this radical designing Toyota will have a sure shot winner in hand and to kill Creta and all other sub 15 lakh crossovers/compact SUV in one sweep.

But the question is does Toyota have a diesel engine other than the 1.4 for this and even bigger question.

Will they even launch it in the first place. Most likely for the next couple of years we will hear. "Right now we are concentrating on the Innova Crysta, Fortuner and the re skinned Etios" Everything else we are still evaluating blah blah"

And for God sakes they have the AD engine family in both 2.0 and 2.2l versions. Maybe going to be phased out soon in Europe, but its perfect for India especially the Corolla. But who is going to hear.

Don't expect this to grace Indian shores anytime soon.

I believe this is Toyota's answer to the Nissan Juke, another 'radical' SUVish-car designed with the same 'ethos', if you will.

This thing is a looker. I am pretty sure Toyota will not price it below 15 lakhs even if it is launched in India.

Only a feet separates the headlamps from each other and also the A pillar. Why leave this gap? Connect the entire front face with the headlamps like a semi circle. I don't understand what kind of design language it is nowadays to stretch the head/tail lamps to ridiculous sizes.

Re: Spy pics: Toyota C-HR Compact Crossover!

Looks are subjective, but I believe overall, Japanese vehicle styling has been progressively getting worse in the past 5 ~ 10 years. Compared to the clean designs of the previous generations, they seem to be trying too hard to bring in some "flair" into their current designs. Too many cuts, creases, exaggerated elements - doubt if they will stand the test of time.

Fantastic looking car this. I am unable to understand the positioning of this car. Toyota seems to be targeting a younger clientele based on the looks of this car. But that generation might be able to afford probably something like the VW UP or Aygo.

If it is the young familyman that Toyota is targeting, then why would they place the rear door handles so high up that the kids cannot open it. Come to think of it, the Juke also suffers from such a handle placement.

Re: Spy pics: Toyota C-HR Compact Crossover!

Toyota's C-HR now spied in US, to go on sale next spring as the 2018 model.

Quote:
As for the U.S. model, some are saying only a naturally-aspirated 2.0-liter will be available and it will be exclusively hooked up to a continuously variable transmission. As standard, power will be channeled to the front axle, but those willing to pay more will be able to opt for an all-wheel-drive arrangement.

Re: Spy pics: Toyota C-HR Compact Crossover!

Interior of the CH-R are out.

Spy pics: Toyota C-HR Compact Crossover!-chr.jpg

As expected the rear seats seem to be claustrophobic due to the plastic cladding in the window, necessitated by the D pillar mounted door handle.

Spy pics: Toyota C-HR Compact Crossover!-chr-rear.jpg

A couple of videos too...

Pray that the CH-R is launched in India, but then it's TKM, so we can expect what will be.

Re: Spy pics: Toyota C-HR Compact Crossover!

Toyota basically copied the BMW I8s interior !! Good for us folks i guess !!
The car overall looks super and brings that wow factor that once was brought in by the Civic in India !! I think Toyota can sell a few of these in India. The buyers will be limited under 40s and certainly no family minded ones.

Knowing Toyota India, this won't come for a while, if at all. Also the pricing would be closer to 20L IMHO.
