Who cares if it doesn't resemble the spy shots at all!

Here's one of the actual pics they played around with. Its a Tipo hatchback.

re: Fiat begins testing the next-generation Punto. EDIT: Named Argo

Yes, except that autosegredos.com (meaning 'automotive secrets'?!) is nothing like the hack auto websites in India: they actually have insiders at FCA Brazil they know or source their deliberate-leaks-from, and over the past few years their renderings have been very close (Fiat MOBI, Toro, Jeep Compass.) Besides, it is entirely clear that the 'new Punto' and related 'new grand Sienna' are indeed LatAm versions, somewhat smaller, of the Tipo/Aegea models, in styling and in market-concept NOT in platform or powertrains.

Except (partially only) for Autocar India Indian automotive sites are rumour milling machines, instead, or PR outlets for certain firms?

I suspect this 'new punto' model/platform+architecture (a heavily updated Palio one) will have no life in India as a FIAT, instead of as-a-JEEP, unless Tata Motors adopts this new Fiat family as its own, here, made at their JV Ranjangaon plant? (new Punto+new Grand Sienna, also there are the new Uno, new Mobi, new 'firefly' small torquey petrol engines.) It seems to me Fiat has no sizeable rhd or lhd export markets for exports of an Indian-made 'new Punto', 'new grand Sienna', after all, thus ruining the investment case imo?

Let's see, i suppose matters will clear-up on the FIAT front only after FCA India launches the Jeep c-suv and b-suv, i.e., not before 2018?

Wow that looks Gorgeous, almost as stunning as the first-gen Punto did when it was due for launch in India. Thank you volkman10 for sharing it here

All FIAT India has to do is launch this with the 90HP MJD and 1.4 T-Jet engine options to...

...PUT FIAT BACK ON THE SALES CHART

I wonder how the info gets out of the company. Anyways, to share or rather correct what you shared it's actually a mini architecture for LATAM that will have common parts across few of the upcoming models to share the assembly line. Infact, there was even a proposal to include a Jeep model into the list. Wonder what happened to that.
Now don't ask me how I know this info

re: Fiat begins testing the next-generation Punto. EDIT: Named Argo

Fiat's Project X6H for Brazil spied and interiors revealed. Hope like VW Fiat need to align the India market with Brazil for cost effectiveness. But with FIAT globally not doing well, India is not likely to be on priority.
If not Tipo/ Egea ,Fiat should consider the Project X6H/X6S as replacement to the Punto/Linea for India.

Interiors of the X6H has various elements of Tipo, Toro and the Uno.Link

Raising our eyes to the right, the Multimedia Center is the second generation UConnect touch screen of 7 inches. By the way Fiat finally surrender to the era of car phone integrated, since the system offers the services of Apple and Android CarPlay Self projection.

The photographs display more details the entertainment center--a function named "App Manager" indicates the presence of integrated applications, the row of keys with start-stop, turn signals and the locking power Windows and air conditioning manual selectors (in top versions, the system will be automatic and digital), similar to those of the one, but with graphics and superior lighting

Fiat begins testing the next-generation Punto. EDIT: Named Argo-capture.jpg

Quote:
Over its nine years of production, the Punto had ups and downs in the national market. In 2007, with only a few months, the hatch scored 3,756 units. In the following, were marketed 38,571 units. The best year of the Punto in the domestic market, was in 2012 when charted 42,361 units. As early as 2016, the model scored just 7,709 units in Brazil
To exit trend continues with already the Linea Bravo, Idea and Fremont being discontinued.
