Fiat's entry level hatchback (X1H) continues its testing in production guise. Launching in early 2016 in the Brazilian Market.



The Fiat X1H is expected to be positioned between the Palio Fire and New Uno, in Brazil.

The engine is the familiar 1.0 4-cylinder Palio / Uno line, with some changes - the new 3-cylinder 1.0 of the brand will only come to the model in 2017, with the first opening in the new Uno.

This means that the little hatch will have length at around 3.65 meters, while the new Uno measures 3.81 m. To this end, all measures will be smaller: front and rear overhangs, and the wheelbase (which is already short of 2,376 m in Uno).

The boot size will be small as Fiat will try to keep the room for the next occupants of the Uno (taking advantage of the guaranteed vertical space by height of the body) and sacrifice some luggage compartment.

The rear will be similar to VW's UP- the rear hatch will be an all glass one with a short boot lid and has a bold Fiat logo placed on it.

The car is speculate to look as rendered by Motor Show magazine. The final name for the car will too be short a three to four letter word!

I think it looks a lot like the Kwid from the front, especially the radiator grille. Wonder whether they plan on launching this in other emerging markets like India ?

The entry level segment could use some competition for sure.

I know that this is just a render, and the production version may end up looking different, but I think for an entry level hatchback, this looks pretty good! I have doubts whether Fiat would release this car in India, because their marketing strategy here is very unpredictable, and god only knows why they take so long to release updated automobiles in India. Prime examples being the MultiJet II & MultiAir engines still not featuring in their cars in the Indian market .

Also, I just converted the the price shown on the cover of that magazine from BR to INR, and it comes up to a figure of 466,105.53. With that kind of pricing, it would actually be competition to the Celerio, Wagon R, i10 etc., rather than the A segment hatchbacks.

Fiat's entry level hatch is rumored to be called Fiat Mobi!

It will be available in 2 engine choices, a 1.0 liter turbo and non turbo. The non turbo version could produce 73 hp if it filled with a standard gasoline, and 75 hp if fed with Ethanol. The turbo version will be released later on, with the power and torque figures remains unknown

Looks very premium. If indeed launched as a competition to Wagon R, it could do decent numbers especially in the cities as a fun alternate to the current Japanese/Korean hatches.

+1 to the uncertainty on its release in India considering the sales performance of their current range. But imagine the possibilities of the existing capacity at the Fiat factory.

The Mobi will be released on April 13, now seem undisguised.

The engine is the same as 1.0 to 75 HP and 9.9 kgfm with five-speed manual.
