The Volkswagen Museum, Hannover

Work took me to Hannover, Germany earlier this year and as I had some time off I took off to see the Volkswagen Auto Museum on a lovely summer day. It is located alongside VW's enormous factory. The museum has a collection of different makes too (not just VW). Will let the pics do the talking, and apologies for non DSLR quality pics, had to make do with a Note3.

More pics of the lovely cars. The last few pics are of the fully automated robotic new car parking. Cars from the adjacent VW factory are brought here for temporary storage before shipping to dealers/export. One can also request for delivery at the factory, in which case the buyer is shown the whole process of delivery from the parking lot till getting the keys.

These pics are of the open air theatre and grounds of the museum. They have a fantastic souvenir shop and restaurant I picked up some VW souvenirs. I wish they had a factory visit and tour and I was told that they are considering starting one in 2016. A fantastic day spent admiring automotive beauties I had only read about and seen pictures and videos of. A very highly recommended visit for anyone travelling to Hannover. The star of the museum and also in my opinion was the Bugatti T57 Atlantic. One of only 4 made. Amazing coachbuilding and detailing considering these beauties were all hand built.
