2021 VW Golf GTI Coming This March With Up To 290 HP, world premiere likely to be at the Geneva Motor Show in March next year.

The new VW Golf GTI will feature a model-specific front bumper that will help in distinguishing itself from its lesser siblings, alongside a set of deeper side sills and a different rear bumper that houses a pair of circular exhaust tips.

The exterior will be further dressed up with all the classic red GTI details and a model-specific honeycomb pattern for the front grille. VW might even alter the thin LED strip up front in pursuit of making the new Golf GTI more visible. Red brake calipers, new wheel designs and a roof spoiler will complete the transition from Golf to Golf GTI.

the new Golf GTI will be offered in two states of tune: a base model with around 245 HP and the more powerful version with around 290 HP. In both cases, power will go to the front wheels exclusively and customers will get to choose between a six-speed manual and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

MK8 Golf MK8 GTI to drive in with up to 280bhp!

Golf is therefore expected to use a development of the existing 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, codenamed EA888.

Expect the GTI Performance variant to develop about 280bhp, while the lesser-powered entry-level model will offer a GTE-matching 242bhp.

Both versions will use the same chassis and suspension set-up, which comprises MacPherson struts at the front and a multi-link system at the rear. The GTI Performance edition will be offered with a mechanical limited-slip differential, while the entry model will make do with VW’s electronic diff. As before, a six-speed manual gearbox will be offered, with the option of a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Golf 8 Performance variants :

- Maximum output is 242hp (180kw).

- Equipped with the 2.0L EA888 inline 4-cylinder turbocharged engine

- New Golf 8 GTI TCR, which is a higher performance model, will it deliver the maximum output of 296hp (221kw)

- New Golf 8 GTD with diesel specifications, which has a maximum output of 197hp (146 kw).

-Golf 8 GTE '' will exhibit a maximum output of 242 hp (180 kw)

- Hardcore version of the Golf 8R, which was found to exhibit a maximum output of 329hp (245kw)

The Performance TDI’s efficiency has been significantly optimised and CO2 emissions have been cut even further, all while simultaneously improving responsiveness.

Volkswagen releases the official teasers to NEW GOLF GTI

The new Golf GTI is one of the first compact sports cars to communicate via Car2X with other vehicles, taking safety to a whole new level. As the first sports car in its class, the Golf GTI can be driven with Travel Assist up to a speed of 210 km/h. This is the first generation of Golf GTI to have a completely digitalised interior landscape of displays and controls. The new generation also has both the red stripe on the radiator grille and an optional LED crossbar integrated in the daytime running lights.

The New Golf GTI debuts with in with 242 bhp,

The turbocharged 2.0-litre TSI engine now produces 242bhp and 370Nm of torque, and is the fourth generation of the familiar ‘EA888’ engine.
GTI rides on five-spoke, diamond cut 17-inch wheels as standard, with 18 and 19-inch sets optional.
A standard 10.25-inch digital instrument panel sits behind the steering wheel, with GTI-specific graphics. The centre of the dashboard is occupied by an 8.25-inch touchscreen display, upped to 10 inches optionally.

Has the output from the 2.0 TSi in the Golf R also changed or is it still 280+ bhp? I absolutely adore the R series, be it the Golf or the 911!

Also any updates to the Seat Cupra Leon which was similarly priced as the Golf R?

VW Golf 8 R coming theis Autumn. Seen camouflaged cleverly.

The turbocharged four-cylinder with a displacement of two liters will be used as the drive.
The maximum power will surely be over 310 HP.

Volkswagen Golf, Polo, Passat set to die in all-electric markets.

Will see a parallel run of Golf 9 and ID. next generation.

Famous VW nameplates make way for ID models only in markets that only sell electric cars.

Golf will cease to exist in markets that only permit the sale of fully-electric vehicles, there was hope for Golf in other places around the world.

What technology Golf 9 will bring we will see. It will again be leading edge as we are now seeing with Golf 8 - whenever we come with next generation Golf it will be a mark for the rest of the industry to beat for the next five or six years to come
