Spy Pics: 2018 Rolls Royce Phantom

Rolls Royce has begun testing its all new Phantom;

This all new RR will ride on all-new aluminium space-frame architecture contributing to weight savings.

The design from the spy shots seem to be evolutionary.

Engine will be the same V12 powerplant which will favor refinement over performance

Re: Spy Pics: 2018 Rolls Royce Phantom

Whoa! This is almost truck size in length! A hatchback would probably fit in between its wheelbase!
Is it longer than the current Phantom?

Next-Gen Rolls-Royce Phantom to launch in 2018

Rolls-Royce has officially confirmed that the next-gen Phantom will be unveiled in 2018. The luxury car manufacturer has also released a single teaser image along with the aforementioned announcement, which doesn’t really reveal anything about the car, and is just a shot of the car's aluminium platform. The released image is a representation of the fact that the company has started development of the next, eighth-gen Phantom.

The aluminium chassis featured in the teased image will not only underpin the eighth-gen RR Phantom, but will also be the base for the company's upcoming SUV offering, currently codenamed the Cullinan. Several new Rolls-Royce cars of the future will also be made on the same platform.

The British carmaker had earlier announced that production of the current-gen Phantom will stop later this year. Rolls-Royce is also planning a series of special edition 'Zenith' models of the Phantom, in order to commemorate its success in the luxury car segment.

The next-gen Phantom will most likely include advanced tech and safety features borrowed from the new BMW 7-Series. There are also rumours that suggest a plug-in hybrid powertrain is under works for the new Phantom.

Is the new phantom going to have a digital cluster? Isn't that a bit too cheesy on something like a phantom?

I remember jay leno on his youtube channel talking about a time back in his day when rolls royce introduced a digital clock on one of its model instead of putting an analog one and all the customers went beserk and forced rolls to get rid of it. Wonder how this move will fare ?

Those times were different and watches i.e. digital watches be it wrist watches are never associated with being premium.

Today a luxury car needs to be tech savvy & hold all sorts of features. You can expect a lot of BMW 7'er features in a velvet outfit on the RR

Just saw this over the internet. The interior gear shifter looks exactly like a BMW shift knob. Dunno if its actually the Roller or not.

Are you sure this is the '18 Phantom ? I'm inclined to think it's a BMW test mule itself.
