Haven't Fiat proven that they can impart style to something as functional as a pickup truck which till now would only be judged on butch, muscular and Macho looks?

This is believed to be based on the Jeep Renegade's platform especially the small wide 4x4 corporate architecture that supports the Jeep Renegade. Toro is 26" longer than the Renegade, 20" shorter than Chevrolet Colorado & 10" shorter than Ford Ranger (2011)

The front end looks like the Predator from Alien Vs Predator which is fantastic, but the rear end does not do justice to the fantastic front. The rear is too sedanish types with those tail lamps.

Love those alloys - absolutely gorgeous. Some of our best sellers here don't get anything close to it.

Looks good and stylish.

A proper compact SUV based on this platform could give the Duster and Creta a run for their money. But FIAT wouldn't be considering this product for India, and would be too late when it finally does.

Re: Fiat Toro (Pickup Truck) launched in Brazil

Got a chance to check out the truck. It sure does look brilliant in flesh with the glowing LEDs above the Head lamp.
The display unit behind the wheel too is amazing. The interior space isn't as good, atleast to the rear. I'm just over 5'8" and there was not much legroom when front seats were positioned by a person of similar height. The quality of materials however, do look good. It does seem to be a promising product for FIAT, with the concern of pricing.
It does come with a 6 and 9-speed AT(with 4x4 option), though I don't have any clue of the Engine configs.

Re: Fiat Toro (Pickup Truck) launched in Brazil

Fiat is reportedly developing the Toro SUV to take on the likes of the Mitsubishi Pajero, Ford Endeavour and the Toyota Fortuner.

According to Brazilian site Autos Segredos, Fiat's R&D team in Brazil has been asked to expedite the Toro SUV project.

Claimed to be available in both 5-seater and 7-seater variants, the Toro SUV will remain faithful to the Toro pickup's design till the B-pillar. Interiors will also be similar, although the Toro SUV could have more creature comforts inside it.

Quote:
Like the Toro pikcup, the SUV will be powered by the 1.8-litre E.torQ flex fuel engine and 2.0-litr Multijet diesel engines. The former is good for 139 PS on ethanol while the oil burner pumps out a healthy 170 PS. The flex fuel engine is reported to available only in 4×2 configuration with a 6-speed Aisin automatic gearbox whereas the range-topping diesel can be had either in 4×2 or 4×4 configuration, both mated to a ZF 9-speed AT.

The Toro SUV should be ready in about a years' time.
