Based on the VW Group’s modular MQB platform, the Kodiaq will likely share the same extended wheelbase length as the upcoming VW Tiguan XL that will be offered in North America and China, measuring close to 2.8 meters, while the SUV’s overall length should be similar to the concept at around 4.7 meters.

In Europe, the engine lineup will include three gasoline burners: the 1.4-liter TSI in two outputs with 125 PS (123 HP) and 150 PS (148 HP), the latter with a cylinder deactivation system, and the 1.8-liter TSI, rated at 180 PS (177 HP). Those looking for more better fuel economy will get to choose between two diesels, the entry-level 1.6-liter TDI, producing 120 PS (118 HP), and the 2.0-liter TDI, with 150 PS (148 HP) or 190 PS (187 HP). A plug-in hybrid model is also planned but won’t join the range at launch.

Wonder, what kind of equipment they are carrying, as the rear looks completely bogged down.

Is it just me or is there a strong Audi Q7 vibe in the design around the shoulder line, window line & D-pillar, specially with the camouflaging.
Agree that they both are from the VAG , but I would expect something costing 2.5 times as much to be looking more special.
Eagerly awaiting the Kodiaq's arrival on Indian shores. If priced at par/slightly below its equivalent Superb, would be fantastic.

The premium SUV Kodiaq is now spied in Nürburgring, giving more cues to the production car.

Kodiaq is be unveiled ahead of the Paris Motor Show in September, going on sale with a range of petrol and diesel engines early 2017. A plug-in hybrid will join the line-up later.

Expect the SUV to arrive in India by 2018.

Looks really lovely in that render. If it is priced right i.e just a few lakhs more than the Santa Fe, it will be a huge hit. A lot of people who buy SUVs settle for average products (interiors) because of the lack of choice and I am sure they will look at this. Mind you Ford has already taken the right step and now it is Skoda's turn. I will definitely be keep an eye on this since I will be needing an SUV in and around 2018.

Skoda's first SUV will be available in both a 7 seat and 5 seat configurations. Pricing is expected to be above VW's Tiguan.

The design is toned down a touch from the original Vision S concept – particularly the crystal-LED front lights – with a more conventional shape demanded by stringent global legislation. Yet it still features the same clamshell bonnet, pronounced shoulderline and angular rear-end shape.

We were able to sample both diesels (a 148bhp manual and a 187bhp DSG auto) and a 177bhp 2.0-litre TSI petrol, all with Skoda’s multi-plate clutch four-wheel drive system. The base diesel is likely to be the biggest seller: it offers perfectly adequate but not sparkling performance, while the 187bhp unit offers a useful chunk more pulling power that’s shown in its impressive 2.5-tonne towing capacity. Both are as refined and, for the most part, smooth as the recent Skodas

I've been patiently waiting to see a leak of the camouflaged production ready version, but that hasn't been leaked so far. It looks like we'll actually have to wait for Skoda to officially unveil it

Also, why does this article say that it is Skoda's first SUV? Are they not counting the Yeti as an SUV?

Yeti has been considered as a crossover and not an SUV, specially in the European market.
