Re: Next-gen Audi Q3 spotted testing

As a current-gen X1 owner and an Audi Q3 hater I feel this one just looks class apart and that coupled with Quattro which translates to "true AWD" unlike X1's I'd choose this in a blink of an eye. Well done Audi.

Re: Next-gen Audi Q3 spotted testing

Is it just me or the new front-grill resembles the new S-cross'? The new DRL and Alloys give it a meaty look though. Good to see Audi offering rear adjustable seats now. Hopefully the rear bench space will be better now. The current generation Q3 barely had any space in the rear. And things got even worse if you have to sit behind a 6-footer.

Re: Next-gen Audi Q3 spotted testing

That Audi grille just keeps growing bigger and bigger! The front end looks a bit too busy IMO. But a nice car overall with decent engine and gearbox combinations. I think Audi is now back in the game with this new Q3. Interiors look swell and looks like is going to be best in class. Car makers seem to be focusing on more on interior design/ quality these days. In many recent launches, the interior design and quality seems to be a major improvement compared to the outgoing models rather that the exterior design.

The entry luxury SUV segment is really hotting up. BMW as racked up good numbers with the X1 with relatively less competition from Audi and Mercedes all this while. The XC40 has joined the party recently and now this Q3 is going to give a good fight to class leader, X1.

Re: Next-gen Audi Q3 spotted testing

That front grill is ghastly. Why did they put so much chrome and ruin a perfectly acceptable design! Doesn't make any sense.

The rest of the car looks great but boy o boy Audi just lost all its subtlety and refined looks with this thing.

Considering all are FWD oriented, very little differentiating factors - it will be more brand oriented choices. The BMW is slightly driver oriented, the Volvo is safety nannyish, the Audi has great interiors and yummy mummy following.

Re: Next-gen Audi Q3 spotted testing

It seems like Audi is successful in solving the biggest issue in Q3: interiors. This one has probably the best interiors in the segment. The front looks a little overdone, IMO.

Overall, a winner for sure.

Audi has ventured beyond the usual metals and plastics to experiment with other less conventional materials. Sections of the dashboard can be trimmed in Alcantara, which is available in different colours: grey, beige or even a lively orange hue. This, combined with the tasteful ambient lighting, helps to add a little fun to the grown-up driving environment.

From behind the wheel, the Q3 is above average for the class in almost every area. It’s not quite as fun to drive as a BMW X1 – the steering feels too numb for that – but keen turn-in, strong grip and decent adjustability means that it’s not bad at all.

Ride comfort was a concern on the previous Q3, but here the second-generation model takes a leap forward. Even on the largest wheels and firmer S line Sports suspension, the Q3 is among the most comfortable cars in this class. Optional adaptive dampers improve things further. Add in good refinement and it’s an excellent cruiser.

Any update on the launch details of the new Q3? There isn't much information available. Also Audi's website is showing only 4 models namely the A8, Q8, A7 and A6. Is this due to the BS6 effect?
