As Ford pulled the wraps off the eagerly anticipated new Mondeo, we were there to see it first

Seems like Ford is getting its every ounce of strength togather to get back in the race.

Check out the new Lincoln Soft-roader and you will know what I mean.

I like the new mondeo.

I like the new styling for the Mondeo. Bold and head turning. The Mondeo is a very good car [somewhat of a rarity for Ford these days] and it deserves to look damn good as well.

The 'keyless go'.feature is kind of cool one . The driver keeps an electronic plipper in his pocket, and uses a dash-mounted button to start the engine.

Looks cool, except for the bottom grill where Mondeo plate is put. That section looks to be a little big!

Looks like a BIG MOUTH Mondeo :)

Fresh face??? Looks like the designer took a few Hondas and spat them on the drawing board.

Headlights look like the ones on the type 2 NHC. Front grill is straight out of the OHC design and whats with the trianguler vents dude??? They look like the exhausts of the Euro Civic.

And to make things worse, the front design looks more like an MPV...than a sporty sedan.

It'l be a good car but, the styling is a bit desperate, IMHO.

Looks more like a MERC to me. Put your thumb on the logo and then check it out.

Its more like a Merc with its angles corenered out.

I just hope handling remains the same , If only they had done something about it in India......hmm......Right now I am thinking of buying a used petrol Elantra , but some how my heart is still asking me to go for the Mondeo ..again used one.....(sensible heart)

one look at it and i was picturing a wire-mesh grille in that area ... it would look hot ;)

This is not the exact pic of the car

The styling looks a bit forced, as though the designers were trying too hard to make it look different and 'new'. The current Mondeo looks good in an understated way sort of way, giving the impression that it doesnt have to be flashy to look good. This version does not follow that design philosophy.

As for the rest, the proof of the pudding is not in the looks and I'm afraid thats where Ford has a problem - the problem is more than skin-deep. Hope they dont lose its high-speed handling capabilities, though.

Agree but I guess thats the current trend . And about the current gen. Mondeo.........its the Bradpitt ...smart ...well built...masculine......

This looks more like an SUV than a sporty car. The old one was just a classic.

Last time the Mondeo V6 took to the track on Top Gear, JC said it was more exclusive than an Aston Martin.
