The Alaskan can be fitted with wheels ranging from 16-inches to 18-inches. The Alaskan will be powered by a 2.3-litre twin-turbo dCi engine that will be available in different states of tune, depending on the market they are sold in. There will be a 160bhp option and a 190bhp option. A slightly bigger 2.5-litre engine might also be sold in similar state of tune as mentioned above. All the engines will be mated to either a 6-speed manual transmission unit or a 7-speed automatic unit.

Also, Renault will offer 2WD and 4WD on the Alaskan. The two look like one of those "spot-the-differences" image pairs because:-

Alaskan : Navara : : Terrano : Duster

(Nissan's Navara is also known as the NP300 in some markets.)

Renault & Nissan may have declared that there would be no more badge-engineered vehicles from their stables, but that is applicable for India only.

Think you've had enough of badge-engineering from the Renault-Nissan Alliance? Wait until the Mercedes-Benz X-Class is revealed. It may well turn out into something like this:

This is the pickup on which the upcoming Mercedes truck is going to be based on.

Nissan is currently developing the SUV based on the Navara. Hope they bring it to India ASAP.
