Here is a recap (late 2016)of the new launches from MS as per Mr. Kalsi. Having already launched the S Cross facelift and the impending New Swift launch is known the only thing left is Suzuki Jimny.

As always India launch will happen after Japan and Europe. Jimny in Japan is scheduled for a early 2018 while in UK in late 2018/early 2019. India too is speculated to get the Jimny in 2019.

There have been more than a few false rumors reported about Jimny over the years. That's why I did it. And, actually, I didn't DO IT.

Maruti did it and I pasted it.

If they really start selling these here I will be the first to run down to the agency with a bucket of bills and book one. I want one. But there has been no official announcement as of yet for Jimny in India. Wishing and hoping isn't the same as getting.

This report says "Suzuki is working out a deal with Toyota to ship the Jimny into the US under a different name. The reports further mentioned that Toyota is keen to approve this request due to the good prospects of off-roaders in the US."

Suzuki JIMNY to arrive in summer 2018 . Its larger sibling SIERRA to come in 2019.

According to the information, it is said that the appearance is this summer (around July), inheritance of the ladder frame, part time 4WD, the information that the engine is equipped with R06 direct injection turbo engine It is gathered.

The Delhi Auto Expo has come. And gone. Still no official word on the rumour that Maruti will build and sell it here in India.......????

Suzuki Sierra ( wide bodied Jimny) will launch in 2019.

World premiere of Jimny is expected in the summer of 2018 and Sierra in the spring of 2019.

Like the base model light car Jimny, the next round Sierra adopts the latest ladder frame specialized for strength and durability. Boxy style with a darkened off-road color is just like "Baby G Class".

The expected powertrain for Jimny is a 660 cc inline 3-cylinder turbo + "S energized charge" mild hybrid, which means that the drive system can select AWD with low range or FR. On the other hand, 1.3 liter inline 4 cylinder NA dual jet engine is expected in Sierra. To boost thermal efficiency, it is an engine that combines various advanced technologies of Suzuki, including "Swift", "Solio" and "Ignis".

The cockpit is also adopted a design with enhanced offroad color, and the center is equipped with the latest infotainment display.

Why does Suzuki Sierra remind me so much of the legendary TATA Sierra?

3 doors, big fixed glass rear, proper SUV looks. Apt name to evoke some emotions in India.

Anyways, might not be able to name it so in India since TATA should be holding rights for it.
