The Jimny hasn't been unveiled anywhere, so far. What we have seen are renderings, magazine leaks and camouflaged test cars.

Additionally, India isn't the Jimmy's primary market. There is no reason for them to unveil it here.

We could expect it to be displayed at the 2020 Auto Expo, but the rumors so far seem to suggest that it may not make it to the country.

I hope I'm wrong, because the Thar needs competition, and the Jimny is the perfect SUV for Maruti to take Mahindra head-on.

I have translated some of the Japanese web pages on Jimny. I see no confirmation from Maruti Suzuki that it will be built or available in India. We remain in a fog...suitable for Delhi motoring anyway. Thanks for your input on this.

Waiting for Jimny is getting frustrating day by day. I am really wondering about the marketing strategy adopted by the management at Suzuki.

What is the point that even Pakistan has got Jimny but not the India?


Any thoughts ?

To add to that, considering Jimny's life period (20 years!), even if we get it after 5 years of its international launch, it will still be in its early life stage.

Don't get frustrated. The Jimny is not going to come to India. Simple as that. I waited for the Jimny for a long time and picked up the Gypsy King in 1997. Sold it to a friend, 9 years later. That's 21 years till date, with the same hollow promises and false hope of it reaching Indian shores.

Chances of the Force Gurkha coming up with a better engine and interiors are higher than the Jimny landing in our shores.

That's Exactly what I did . Purchased Gypsy MPFI in 2013 and now its my family car. I am still open for Jimny if it gets launched in India. I am sure many others are too.

Jimny if launched with correct pricing (IMO Maruti cars are overpriced) in India it can change lots of equations for Maruti. Not sure what kind of rocket science difficulties it is for Maruti to launch it in India.
