Suzuki is in a dilemma - whether to delay its global launches or fast track its manufacturing line-up of Jimny in other countries.

Demand far exceeds supply, estimates go haywire. Jimny seem to have invoked regular buyers apart from enthusiasts. Bookings in Japan and selected EU (unofficial) gives Jimmy exceeding long waiting periods and bookings continue to grow. Cntalouges too are sold out.

Sierra was focused for exports but Japanese demand too seems there for it.

Suzuki confirms Jimny for Thailand.

Meanwhile the popularity of the little vehicle soars. Suzuki likely to increase investments to speed up its production.

As on 23rd:

Jimny reaches 17,000 while Sierra is at 3500. Jungle Green is the most popular color being booked.

Waiting period of Jimny is growing and presently is at 1 year while Sierra is ~ 2 1/2 - 3 years

Very popular with Rentals (top grade "Jimny" XC ) too - 5,400 yen (with ETC and navigation) for a day with maximum capped at 2 nights 3 days.

With Suzuki reeling to meet the stupendous response to Jimny's bookings, tweaks its development plans. With production concentrated only in Japan and official bookings for International markets to start soon, is likely defers the other variants of Jimny.

1. Jimny will not have any changes / additional variants in the next 2 years.

2. No LWB - 4 door variant before 2020.

3. Will have only one engine option for International markets (read - no diesel offering)

Although it is said that we are currently planning an increase production plan, it seems to be a severe development for the time being as overseas exports also start.

It seems there was an idea to prepare a high-powered engine of the developed country specification

First of all, the 4-door long-- "It does not depend on development at the moment

Now, this 4 door version looks at lot like Rubicon.

IMO, India will get this 4 door version. That puts it squarely against it's own Brezza.

Suzuki would also hope that after 2020 (BS-6), when diesel demand subsides, JIMNY with only petrol option might make more business sense.
