- The jungle green color is like the standard version, but has different finishing. Clear and coarse matte texture on the body.

-The new generation Jimny bumper also has the same touch but the color is black. The Ladder frame is sprayed with body color with the same texture.

- The front look rugged- Australian ARB bullbar installation (LED ARB light spot, fog lamp and winch stand)

this hoist is branded Warn type 8000. This means that the dynamo and steel rope reels are able to pull a load of 8,000lbs, or if converted around 3.6 tons.

- The side, the ARB footstep side bar stretches to the wheel point

- The 15-inch beadlock rim is surrounded by 31 Savero Komodo Extreme GT tires. Therefore, over fenders are also enlarged.

-In front and rear, using a 3-link rigid axle model with Coil spring and Old Man Emu brand shock absorber.

-The position of the stop lamp is more centered since the original bumper was removed and replaced with a custom iron stretch.

- Its length is 3,900mm, width is 1,700mm, and its height is 1,780mm. Ground clearance also increased to 360mm. While the wheelbase is the same, 2,250mm.

-. Keep using the 1.5-liter K15B engine with 102PS power and 130Nm of torque. But, the power delivery is a 5-speed manual transmission.

-Tough Concept has a high mount stop lamp, hill hold control, hill descent control, ESP, ABS, and immobilizer

Unfortunately, this is not for sale. If interested, just record what is installed and look for the modification workshop itself

For India : We live on, hoping it arrives in the BSVI era!

The company has not made any official announcements about the car’s arrival in the Indian markets.
However, it is expected that the off-roader will reach production stage in the coming months and will be launched in the international markets sometime next year.

The desirability quotient of this car is off the charts! I really hope Maruti decides to launch it as a halo product. It would not surprise me at all if there is demand for it even north of the 20L price point.

There appears to be plans for Suzuki to launch a compact suv in India. However, as of now, the articles mention that the rural market will be the primary target for a rugged 4-wheel drive mini-SUV and that it will be based on the Jimny with localised parts to keep costs down.

This seems to indicate that we may get a stripped down version of the Jimny here and not the international spec / build quality of the car itself.

I understand its around 6 months (in general) in Melbourne. People who booked in Feb 2019 are getting their deliveries now. Few specific color/transmission combinations has got 2 months additional delay.

Launched in July 2018, Suzuki Jimny story so far:

Suzuki, the manufacturer, initially set up an annual sales plan with 15,000 Jimny (1250 units a month on average) and 1200 Jimny Sierra (100 units).

　

However, the number of orders received one month after the launch was 15,000 Jimny and 5000 units, including a total of 20,000 units. The production system was increased to 500, a total of 3000.

Total cars sold: 44491 ( Jimny 33400, Sierra 11091)




Waiting Period as in August:

Jimny : 8 months to 1 year
Sierra : 18 months to 2 years

Therefore, from the beginning of 2019 to April, production increased by more than 50% due to holiday work and overtime.

　As a result of the improved supply system, the average number of units sold until July 2019 is 2708 units by Jimny and 1013 units by Jimny Sierra

The overseas market is sold exclusively by Jimny Sierra, so the supply to Japan is particularly delayed, and there are currently 15,000 back orders

2019 Suzuki Jimny manual review: City driving (Australia)

The solidity of the interior transfers to the drive experience, which is, in short, pretty fun. There’s a certain character to the atmo 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine. Sure, its meagre outputs of 75kW at 6000rpm and 130Nm at 4000rpm aren’t Earth-shattering. But remember, that little unit only has to haul 1075kg of kerb weight. And that makes for a pretty spirited little Jimny.

spent a lot of time in third gear, which seems to be the Jimny’s sweet spot around town. Fourth is too tall to extract any meaningful torque, thanks to its 4000rpm band, and fifth is best left for highway cruising.

The Jimny takes its time getting up to speed on the highway, and once at the posted 110km/h, it doesn’t so much hum along, but rumble. With the tacho needle sitting at 3000rpm or thereabouts at cruising speed, you can’t help but think a sixth gear might be a welcome addition in future Jimnys

There’s no question the Suzuki Jimny is a fun little thing. In both the way it looks and the way it – mostly – drives, the little off-roader is brimming with character. But its undoubted off-road chops compromise its urbanity. It’s slow, ponderous in the way it handles city streets, and largely impractical in terms of storage. But, its small size is a boon in inner-city confines and its retro-chic styling oozes charm.

The 6th gear thing needs to be clarified.



6th gear, as an overdrive, makes sense on aerodynamic cars with powerful (torquy) engines. The author himself mentions, that above 110 km/h, the car is not eager to accelerate.


Current 5th gear is 1:1 gear, which means that in the Jimny, the power goes directly from the engine onto the rear axle, with no gears involved in the actual gearbox. It is, so to speak, not really a gear.


Everything is connected as one shaft when you are in 5th in the Jimny. This 'gear' offers a certain advantage in friction/efficiency over gears, that are lower or higher, because they normally involve at least 4 gear cogs being engaged.


If you hypotetically had a 6th gear, it would have to be of a considerably taller ratio, than the 1:1 5th gear, to even make sense. Because being an overdrive gear, that hypotetical 6th would have to involve gear cogs in the gearbox and end up with worse efficiency, and thus, it would have to be considerably taller than 1:1 to even make sense from the efficiency point of view.


So, does the K15B have enough torque to DRIVE the car at speeds above 120 kph in a considerably tall overdrive gear, considering JImny's typical brick shape? NO. The 5th gear is just fine and offers tall enough gearing to achieve respectable 7l/100km fuel consumption.


The car does not even reach its top speed in 5th, it does so in 4th.

So why add 6th. I bet you would not even be able to maintain 130 kph in 6th.


There is NO NEED FOR 6th, it would make the gearbox more complex, weaker, heavier and more expensive to make.




Among the typical slogans I read or hear about the Jimny, this one has to be the most uneducated and ignorant.


The other nonsensical comments are: This is the baby G-Klasse. Jimny is an SUV. The new Jimny does not have differentials. Normally, power goes to the front axle....

These two renderings preview a five-door Jimny.

Consumers appear won over by the boxy, Mercedes-Benz G-Class-like shape of the new Suzuki Jimny and these renderings show that the design translates perfectly for a five-door variant. Will such a model become a reality? It’s possible.

Suzuki Australia general manager Michael Pachota :

If the name starts with ‘Jimny’, we’ll sell it.

A five-door would broaden the range of customers beyond just the thrill-seekers, the adventure seekers and the young drivers who just want the cutest 4×4 on the block. It would really broaden our demographic.
