Toyota Mexico itself spilled more beans tonight by (mistakenly?) Tweeting a revealing video of the rear-wheel drive sports coupe on the move. Our friends at Jalopnik grabbed some schreenshots too, which we’ve shared below, in case, you know, someone removes the Tweet.

The Supra has always been an iconic ricer/rice rocket. And it is a relief to see such a pretty car from TMC. TMC, why can't you use the same car design teams for your bread-n-butter models too?!

It is a looker! Toyota has brilliantly managed to design it almost identical to the FT1 Concept.

And Toyota being Toyota, I think it will be priced brilliantly as well especially with reference to the BMW Z4 which shares the same platform.

Now just fingers crossed that we get it in India as well! There are a lot of Supra enthusiasts in our country looking at the sheer number of imported ones on our roads and the new one can be a huge hit as well!

Is it just me or is anyone else waiting for this Supra to re-feature in a tunned out form in the next Fast and Furious movie? And maybe smoke a 488 GTB this time? or am I being over optimistic?

By the way, love the looks! And knowing that it has the same underpinnings as a Beemer, we know its not just gonna be straight line fast (a la 1000 bhp tune) but also going to corner like a boss. Can't wait to see what tunners can transform this into. This may have just ingnited the boy racers dream in many of us which was eating dust and cob webs for lunch since so long.

Toyota has started with the process of improving the looks of their bread and butter models too, most of which are already available for sale in international markets.

The new Camry, as well as new Corolla hatch spring to mind immediately.





Even the new RAV4 is a looker, compared to the outgoing model.

My intial thoughts. The telltale German compact roadster shape goes on to prove that Toyota has has ditched the street fighter looks of the original Supra catering to the other refined side of the market who would park this one next to their Lexus. At best this going to just carry the name of the old legend just like the AE86 and the new NSX.

A side dekko of the car seems to be an amalgamation of the Z4 and the GT 86 making it a slightly bigger 86.

The Japanese seem to be making a hash out of the second iterations of their iconic supercars like the NSX and Supra.

2020 Toyota Supra Debuts With 335 HP.

The Supra's wheelbase stretches out to a tidy 97.2-inches. That puts it relatively in the same class as cars like the Porsche 911 (96.6 inches) and Jaguar F-Type (103.2 inches). But its 172.5-inch length makes it a little more compact overall – that means shorter front and rear overhangs, an extremely low center of gravity, and a perfect 50:50 weight distribution.

The new Supra comes powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six courtesy of BMW – that's the same engine you'll find in the new Z4, though it's actually down on power here. That Supra produces 335 horsepower and 365 pound-feet of torque (versus the Z4's 382 hp and 369 lb-ft), and comes paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission exclusively. Toyota estimates this new Supra will sprint to 60 miles per hour in just 4.1 seconds but top speed is electronically limited to just 155 miles per hour.

The 2020 Toyota Supra goes on sale later this summer. At launch, it will come in three different trim levels: 3.0, 3.0 Premium, and Launch Edition based on the 3.0 Premium. The Launch Edition model comes in three different colors – Absolute Zero White, Nocturnal Black, and Renaissance Red 2.0 – with unique red interior accents. But it's limited to just 1,500 examples worldwide.
