Finally the face-lifted Skoda Octavia 2017 has been officially revealed!

I am assuming that the exteriors will anyway find their way to India (maybe mid-2017?) as the old kits are exhausted. Hope that the infotainment and lane management / traffic warning tweaks also do figure in our line-up now that the radar frequencies have been de-licensed by India.

Exteriors:
Revised ‘split’ headlights that are now closer to the latest family look pioneered by the Skoda Kodiaq SUV, and

Neater lower bumper section with crisp horizontal lines designed to emphasise the car’s width.

Interiors:
All of the systems offered - Swing and Balero, and the navigation-equipped Amundsen and Columbus - get capacitive touchscreens.

Despite the numbers of those prism shape rear panels on the road I just can't seem to come to terms with the design, let alone grow on me. Add to that the pre facelift W212 inspired headlamp design and the Octavia just went from being busy to being complicated.

The car has honestly lost it's classic mature styling, and has just earned it self a place in the weird and whacky section.

Why spoil something which is already good? Normal tweaks to the bumper and maybe a different DRL design would have been enough for a facelift. If they really wanted to change something, they should have worked on the tail lamp design.

But no. Skoda had to spoil it. This surely reminds me of the pre facelift w212. It is quirky and the rear Rapid style tail lamps remain unchanged. God help Skoda!

Boy am I glad that I picked up mine before this weird looking thing makes way to India. The current generation looks so much better- clean, mature and very handsome. This 'one' piece blacked out headlamps look so much better.

Skoda just had to do it. In the past too, Skoda got every one on their toes when they completely redesigned the front face of the laura for its facelift, how ever it din't really throw people off their seats. The design did grow on people and they started liking it but this one? Oh Gosh..!

I can see a la'wannabe E-Class, more like one of those overdone replicas we see on YouTube. It used to have a sense of elegance making people actually wonder what it packed underneath, while now it just screems for attention.

Form what used to be Wolf in Sheep's clothing to Wolf in Hyena's clothing. Lets just hope the Octavia doesn't loose its business executive client hood who stay low profile no matter what.

Nice. Big thumbs up from me, going against the popular opinion above.

Although I really liked the Octavia design earlier, the DRLs stuck out like a sore thumb in the design, being just far too plain jane and straight. The new one makes the transition to the grill more elegant and subtle.

The new headlight design might grow on us, but Skoda just had to ruin the front grill as well, inspiration from BMW i guess.

The indicators now seem to be integrated into the DRL's and LED headlamps??.

Very very BMW-esque indeed.
One can quite easily mistake the Skoda for the more "desirable/ snob value" marque with this re-design.
I guess the whole family of Skoda will slowly get these design elements in them...

I personally like this design. Good to see Skoda creating an identity of it's own by moving away from boring Audi design territory. Though, it seems the new design language is a mix of Merc and BMW face. LOL!

Skoda seems to have no qualms about drawing inspiration from the big 3 Germans.

The rear vaguely resembles the old-generation A6 (focus on them tail lights), the grille now looks BMW-esque and the split headlights are pure pre-facelift W212 E-Class.

To be honest, it's not the worst idea to cherry-pick these design elements, but it resembles a 5-year-old's ill-fitting jigsaw puzzle.

I'm sure the design will grow on most people. But I'm glad we own the pre-facelift version. It's a cleaner design IMO.

Absolutely love this facelift. Skoda seems to have redefined what facelift is, with those lovely split headlamps. No more generic DRLs; those angled signature DRLs are unique to the Octavia, giving it an air of sophistication, which I seem to love. Yes, those lamps hark back to the days of the old E and heck, they looked great on the Merc; so why not? There are very few manufacturers that give attention to design detail like Skoda do, and unfortunately, they're a dying breed. Skoda is one of the remaining few and I look forward to every design iteration from their studios.

Don't care about the service and I'll throw the reliability quotient outta the window! Stranded on the motorway? I'd still get to admire this beauty while waiting for road side assistance. Sorry chaps, there's no sanity in what I just said. Absolutely love the new Oct and I want one!

Skoda vehicles (in India) have always been classy elegant and masculine compared to others.
This iteration is also good as an evolution. I actually like the split headlight system. It is nothing too brash, contrary to reactions I am reading on this thread.

My god, this wasn't expected of Skoda whose designs I really love. But this time, they have gone ahead and spolit a completely brilliant existing design, for no apparent reason than efflux of time!

Front looks really horrible. I like the current design especially in black and red colours.

That split head lights and DRL without any design language combined with vertical center split of grill makes it really ugly.
