Rover now Roewe ????

Steeroid's post on the Smart look alike pinged me about the new development on the Rover

As many of you know, Rover has been sold off "twice" to the chinese by a group of honourable english gentlemen masquerading as asset strippers.

They sold the intellectual property of the Rover 75 and 25 to SAIC (Shanghai Automotive) and sold the equipment and the MG badge to nanjing.

SAIC were after the Rover brand rights but BMW retained the Rover name and sold it to Ford who wanted to protect the Land Rover Brand. So what do SAIC do ?

Simple create a new brand "Roewe"
