VW releases a new variant of Virtus and Polo - Virtus 1.6 MSI AT/ Polo 1.6 MSI AT in Brazil,






The MSI 1.6 powertrain is capable of generating up to 110 hp of power and 15.8 kgfm of torque, if fueled with gasoline.

Versions with the MST powertrain 1.6 with TipTronic will have the same standard items, such as air conditioning, electric steering, power locks, power windows, multimedia system

VIRTUS GTS- the performance oriented sedan ready for the São Paulo Motor Show.

The model with suspension 1 cm lower, wheels of 17 inches of the European Polo GTI, and differentiation to the front grille and bumper. In addition to Virtus, the Polo will have similar configuration.

The two models adopt TSI 250 engine (1.4 Turbo), associated with automatic gearbox of six ASIN gears-similar to the one used in the Polo 200 TSI

Volkswagen launches the Virtus in Mexico.

The Virtus does not replace the (previous-gen Polo-based) Vento, but is positioned between it and the Jetta.

Priced at 275,990 Mexican pesos (approximately ₹ 10 lakhs) for the manual model and 295,990 Mexican pesos ( ₹ 10.8 lakhs) for the automatic version.

In Mexico, the Virtus is offered with only one engine, a naturally aspirated 1.6-liter four-cylinder gasoline unit rated at 110 PS (109 HP) and 155 Nm (114 lb-ft) of torque. The standard transmission is a five-speed manual while a six-speed Tiptronic automatic is offered as an option.

Vw in India has become a non existent entity, no new launches no updates.

They should quickly go electric if they wish to survive atleast that will renew customer interest for them in India

What a boring, drab looking car. Just looking at these VW cars gives me a gloomy feeling.

A little cut of the headlight here, a little nip and tuck of the boot there and thats it.
VW needs to think hard how it plans to stay relevant in the Indian scheme of things.

That was a very amusing description or so I thought!!! I am not sure you have driven a VW.

I own a polo for more than 5 years, owned two marutis before it, and really doubt if anything else, in this indian market, will ever come close to it. I have taken countless test drives and everytime I go back to my car I know I did the best thing, in our world, to buy this car.

Sorry buddy!!! I cannot agree with you. Some things are beyond dispute... VW, Honda CBR, etc...

To me they are dull and boring. My own cousin has a Polo and I ve sat in it way more times than I remember, city as well as highways.
I am glad you like your Polo, I do not like them. I did own a Skoda Superb V6 diesel if that helps. What was it about the Honda CBR?

Volkswagen manufactures the 100,000 th Virtus in Brazil.

Always present in the Top 20, the VW sedan has multimedia with Google Android Auto and Apple Car Play. It also has a 10.25-inch digital cluster and several comfort and safety items, such as traction controls and stability.

In Latin America, Virtus is already exported to Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Paraguay, Uruguay, Curacao, Costa Rica and Mexico, predicting to be sent 8000 units later this year.

Volkswagen's Virtus and Polo to get the GTS variant in Brazil. Launching early next year.




Polo GTS and Virtus GTS are the first sports vehicles developed in Brazil on the MQB Modular Strategy. The models are equipped with 250 TSI engine (250 Nm torque and 150 hp of power) and six-speed automatic transmission.

In front, are new full LED headlights, which have differentiated visual identity; new bumper, more imposing; the beehive radiator grille with the "GTS" logo and a red fillet that connects the two headlights – striking features in Volkswagen's "GT" vehicles worldwide

The wheels are diamond and are 17 inches long, with tires 205/50 R17. The Polo GTS also has deflector on the trunk cover painted in bright black and the bottom section of the exclusive rear bumper.

Polo GTS flashlights are LED, with exclusive night signature, and in the sedan are darkened.

In virtus GTS the rear deflector is also black only that instead of standing on the lookout, it sits on the trunk cover. In polo GTS gets twin exhaust outlets.

Internally, the models have the active info display with red lighting. In addition, the entire cabin is darkened: ceiling, benches, door sides and panel

The steering wheel is unique, with leather finish and red seams, and has the acronym "GTS" on the base rod. The same shade of red gives finishing to the air outlet frames and the base of the gear lever. Carpets and benches also have details in red

under the hood, bring the 1.4 TSI engine produced by Volkswagen in the São Carlos Factory (SP), which develops power of 150 hp (ethanol or gasoline). Its maximum torque is 250 Nm (25.5 kgfm), regardless of the fuel mixture. This engine is combined with the automatic transmission of six gears AQ250 (the same as jetta, but with a more sporty footprint). The set exhibits excellent commitment between performance, economy and comfort.

The models will be offered in solid color options (Ninja Black, Crystal White and Red Tornado – this exclusive for polo GTS) and metallic (Sirius Silver, Blue Night and Platinum Grey).
