In the set of pics in the OP, the speedo console can be clearly seen on the right, behind the steering wheel. I just hope you are wrong here because as much as I like the practicality of a WagonR, I don't like the idea of a central speedo console. The new WR will have a whole lot of quirkiness which will be difficult to digest.

The pictures in the OP are renderings. The one posted above is a photograph of the actual vehicle. I have seen the vehicle personally, and the speedo console is indeed in the center.

But this is JDM specification. Does not mean we will get the same thing in India.

- LED, split-head light
- S - Energy Charge is a complete electric drive for the first 10 seconds.
- Fuel consumption is 33.5 km / L
- ORVM Popular arm type
- TECT body technology achieved weight saving ( now weighs 750 kg)
- Hatch is wider as the tail light set in the rear bumper
-Demio's active driving display (transparent) will also be attached so that it is easy to see from the driver's seat with the center meter



Wagon R Stingray - It adopts a vertically elongated lens headlight instead of a two-stage headlight, and a large air intake is provided for a lower grill.

In this pic, the headlamps look like a replica of the might Range Rover headlamps. As much as I like my WagonR, I love the RR much more. I wouldn't want the RR headlamps making its way to an humble WagonR.

On a serious note, I don't like the idea of paper light tallboy designed cars. With the new WagonR losing further weight (and yet, retaining the brick like design), I shudder to think how the car will behave in an open road on a windy day.

New Maruti Wagon R 2017 Launch (India)

The new-gen tallboy hatchback will go on sale in the Japanese market on February 1, 2017. It’s quite easy to guess that the new WagonR will hit Indian shores in 2017, since the Bharat New Vehicle Safety Assessment Program (BNVSAP) will come into effect from October 2017. And with the current structure, the WagonR won’t be able to pass the safety test.

I quite doubt that they will launch this body style in India. Prime reason being the very short bonnet of the Japanese WagonR. It will be very tight fit for the K-10 engine.
The rear end too, is not suited for Indian market. I think I read somewhere that new WagonR will be launched in 2018 in Indian market.

In the last pic of the cars one above the other, the rear design looks decent enough to be used as the front of a commercial micro truck like Tata Ace.

I overall liked new Wagon R though.
