Rumour: VW's smallest Crossover, the T-Track

It is known that the VAG group's gap in the S/CUV portfolio, but the group is now on a assault to narrow the gap and have an offering in almost all segments.

Rumour: VW's smallest Crossover, the T-Track-vw20t20track.jpg

From VW we already have the Tiguan, T -ROC (2017- based on Golf), T- Cross( 2017 -based on Polo) and now the crossover based on the new generation UP is the T - Track.
The T Track is targeted at € 15000( base variant) and market ready for 2020.

The crossover to be available only in a FWD configuration and 3 cylinder engine with an electric version for release later. Likely to fall in the sub 4m category!

Whether T Track will spin off to similar models in Skoda( Kodiaq->Karoq->Polar-> ?) and Seat is left to be seen.

Re: Rumour: VW's smallest Crossover, the T-Track

VW's 2014 concept TAIGUN comes back in the form of T TRACK. Though Brazil is part of the target markets, India is likely to get this fast tracked on priority.

Reports indicate the project took more time for its approval, unlike the T Cross and T Roc as this does not share many parts with other models. Inspired by the success of Renault's is one of the reasons to have been green lighted for production.

In Brazil it will take on Ford Ecosport and speculated to be of 3.8m in length, will use only 3-cylinder engines (1.0 MPI and 1.0 TSI) and will cost lesser that Ford's CUV.

Estimated to cost € 15000 when launched.

Re: Rumour: VW's smallest Crossover, the T-Track

VW gets serious on T Track , will get 124 hp engine and TSI AT variant.

Quote:
The model will be the entry SUV brand, positioned below the T-Cross (SUV Polo), and is being developed on the new generation of the Up!, with marginal increase in length to allow the adoption of TSI 1.0 engine
Quote:
Initially presented as a concept in 2012, as Taigun, was resumed for launch in 2020, as T-Track, 1.0 TSI / 124 HP engine and 6 AT.

Re: Rumour: VW's smallest Crossover, the T-Track

Remember TAIGUN ? A concept shown to us five years ago, now has been confirmed by the group for sale in 2020. in the form of T TRACK

On all probability this will arrive in India in late 2021.

While it is clear VW will prioritize this CUV over Polo, it is not known when the hatch will arrive in India.

Quote:
The introduction of the T-Track could therefore result in Volkswagen ending the CrossPolo moniker which, until now, has not made the transition into the current generation model.

VW's smallest S/CUV confirmed for arrival in late 2020.

Being developed in Brazil this CUV will be available to other global markets. This could be the CUV that could land in India post 2021.

Pablo di Si, president of the brand in South America, confirmed to reporters at the Frankfurt Hall (Germany) that there is an ongoing project to manufacture this mysterious SUV in Taubaté (SP).

The mysterious SUV announced by Di Si will be small, and there only remains that it is positioned below T-Cross and T-Sport.

Re: Rumour: VW's smallest Crossover, the T-Track

VAG board approves the Mini SUV (A0 SUV), coming to Brazil in 2022.

-The car is already in the final stage of visual elaboration, which has been developed by Brazilian designers at least since 2018.

- The model will use the MQB platform with 2.56-meter wheelbase, just like Polo and T-Sport.

-Next year, the first prototypes will be released for wind tunnel tests and closed test fields.

- First public appearances of mules and prototypes with definitive bodywork should only take place in 2021.

Quote:
With the A0 SUV, the idea of Volkswagen is finally to put into practice a concept with which the company has been dating since 2012, with the Taigun concept

Re: Rumour: VW's smallest Crossover, the T-Track

Volkswagen trademarks VW T-Sport, T-Go, T-Coupe, for the upcoming new CUV's .

The smallest CUV being discussed here is likely to be called T - Track or T-GO!

Quote:
As far as T-Go is concerned, we’re getting the feeling it’ll be an entry-level crossover offering from VW, perhaps a production version of the pint-sized Taigun concept from 2012 that was based on the diminutive up! The rumor mill suggested a couple of years ago it would be called T-Track, so this is all a bit confusing right now.

VW sub-4 metre SUV based on 2021 VW Taigun’s platform to debut in November

Internally code-named VW246 is in the works and is planned to be unveiled in concept form in November this year for Brazil.

Quote:
Powering the VW246 SUV will be the 170 TSI or 200 TSI 1.0-litre flex-fuel engine. The former produces 105 PS (ethanol)/101 PS (petrol) and 16.8 kgf.m (164.75 Nm) of torque in the VW up!. The 200 TSI engine develops 128 PS (ethanol)/116 PS (petrol) and 20.4 kgf.m (200.56 Nm) of torque in the VW Polo
